Heute vor einem Jahr strahlte der Komet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) am Abendhimmel.

Ich konnte an diesem Abend vor einem Jahr spontan (Stativ mit Kamera aus dem Schlafzimmerfenster aufs Carport-Dach gehievt) schnell ein paar Bilderserien aufnehmen, um diese dann zu „stacken“, also zusammenzurechnen. Der Gegenschweif des Kometen war dann deutlich sichtbar, insbesondere bei nachträglicher Bearbeitung.

What created an unusual dark streak in #Comet #TsuchinshanAtlas 's tail? Some images of the bright comet during mid-October not only caught its impressively long #tail and its thin #antitail, but a rather unexpected feature: a dark streak in the long tail.
