NHC discussion on Milton. Forecasters don't have an easy job on this one.

"The intensity guidance continues to show a significant spread in the forecast peak intensity in 60-72 h, with possibilities ranging from category 1 to category 5 strength. Also, some of the intensity guidance forecasts Milton to rapidly weaken over water after peak intensity, while other models suggest the storm will only weaken slightly."

Tropical Storm Milton now expected to be a strong hurricane (ie Cat 3+) when it reaches Florida. The computer models for intensity-- not official, not reliable--are spitting out everything form TS to Cat 5 now, but an indication of the potential. I'd most certainly be scrambling to prep and be ready to evacuate if necessary in that cone for sure. #Milton #TSMilton #FLwx #HurricaneMilton
