Added context. It was VERY busy yesterday. People spent multiple hours waiting to get on ferry sailings. Our family did not have a reservation, had to wait 2 sailings, so the American was in for his third. And ferry line etiquette is unequivocal, if the line is moving and you are gone, you lose your spot! 😂

Ferry Karma. Last night, a family member, first hand account. 😂

“Sitting in line for the ferry, out of the blue the line moved forward by six cars, but there was a car in front that didn’t have a driver, so we drove around him. Well he was pissed when he came back. We finally started to board when the ferry came in, I was the last car, the guy didn’t make it on. On the ferry the guy in front of me came over and gave me a fist pump and we saw the poor guy is sitting down there polishing his Utah plates. He was American. Hahaha!”

Ooo! Just coming around Gabriola Island, past the blinking lighthouse, and in the inky darkness in the distance, just above the Islands, we could see fireworks! Impossible to get a clear picture through the window glare. Fun. 🎆
Almost back to the Island. A relaxing boat ride. Ferry was barely half full. Quiet. The lights of Nanaimo’s harbour are coming into view. Ready to be on the final leg home.
