ZenZX v0.6.11 is out
— a preview release on the ramp-up to v1.0.
ZenZX is a ZX Spectrum emulator in Go (48K/128K/+2/+3, now TS2068 too).
What's new:
- New menu system: Light, Dark, and Spectrum themes, selectable fonts
- GUI toolkit reused from zenimate, including file dialogs
- TS2068 support, with hi-colour mode
- Tape loading improved: new -tapemode=turbo, more precise .tap/.tzx decoding via zentools
- ULA memory contention implemented
- Joystick (Kempston, Sinclair) and mouse (Kempston, AMX) support
Builds for Windows, Mac, FreeBSD, and Linux available. This is an interim release, no guarantees whatsoever, BUGS ARE EXPECTED and feedback is very, very, welcome!
More to come before v1.0.

ZenZX is getting Timex Sinclair 2068 emulation. Just because.
This may not look like much but it's the output of a small programme plotting on the screen in so-called HiColour mode.
Also adding Kempston and Sinclair joystick emulation, plus Kempston and AMX mouse emulation.
A Timex Sinclair 2068 is like a Spectrum with extra graphics, and the same AY sound chip that was later inherited by the ZX Spectrum 128k, plus Kempston joystick ports, and some fancy memory modes.

Estuve haciendo pruebas con el módem wifi para TS 2068. Pude correr la versión de Retroterm para Timex y conectar con algunos RetroBBS, pero tuve que potenciar el audio con el mixer para poder cargar juegos y programas. Es la home computer más sorda que he visto en mi vida. #timexsinclair #ts2068

Pude correr la versión de Retroterm para Timex y conectar con algunos RetroBBS, pero tuve que conectar la TS a una notebook y potenciar el audio con el mixer para poder cargar juegos y programas. Es la home computer más sorda que he visto en mi vida.

Few of us, even the most studious ones, probably ever heard of the Timex Computer 3256, a ZX Spectrum-inspired successor to the Timex Sinclair 2068, or believed it was forever lost to time.
Some incredible engineers unearthed the Timex Computer 3256 AND its peripherals, and revived it in 2024. The Sinclair-inspired computer, its networking interface called TENET (short for: Timex Educational Network), floppy drive controller, networking software for the classroom, and all. Restored, revived, and re-created in new hardware. It's nothing short of a Jurassic Park achievement, infusing life and embodiment to something that only remained in some faint ROM memories.

Many people have known for decades the rumour that Sinclair Research did work on a portable ZX Spectrum prototype codenamed Pandora.
