By destroying knowledge #Trumpists seek to make the #US more amenable to their #political #domination, & prevent meaningful #democratic #checks on their behavior
Their victory would do more than that. It would annihilate some of the most effective systems for aggregating, accumulating, & applying human knowledge that ever existed
Without those, it could find itself plunged into a new Dark Age

The article doesn't argue that the decision will be bad for authoritarians like the #Trumpists who pushed for it and hope to benefit from it.
It argues that the decision will be good for authoritarians. It's as bad as you thought it was or even worse.

It's promising that younger #Republicans are much more moderate on #immigration issues.
Which is why, of course, the post-party, post-democracy #Trumpists are quite happy to #disenfranchise them, too.

Has anyone seen a good list of #Republicans who morphed from harsh #AntiTrumpists to obsequious #Trumpists? (Like #TedCruz, #LindsayGraham, #MarcoRubio.) #Wikipedia should have one but apparently doesn't.
I'm reading Halik Kochanski's _Resistance_, Liveright, 2022. (Excellent btw.) Mostly about resisters, it also covers the tensions that led some in #Nazi-occupied countries to choose #collaboration. I'm struck by how much they resemble Trump critics who became Trump sycophants.

This is both sad to see and concerning.
"America, love it or leave it" was the demand and threat of ultra-nationalist Americans for decades.
They saw no space in the USA for anyone who stood against the extreme violence, brutalty and oppression the nation engaged in.
It is those American ultra nationalists who are now #Trumpists.
#ADL insisting that Israel in Gaza can not be validly criticised is a victory for those promoting #Divisiveness, #Rage, #Fear and #Uncertainty.
