The courts need to do their duty to the Constitution regardless of threatened or implied violence. I realize that that's asking an awful lot of the Republicans on the SCOTUS, who have lately shown a contempt for precedent and ethics. But if they're as sincere about "originalism" as they have been paying lip service to, then their choice is clear.
