A nudge towards privatization.
The admin favors privately-operated Medicare Advantage, and higher Medicare Part D premiums will likely push people towards Medicare Advantage.

The #TrumpAdmin's move to end Medicare Part D subsidies seems political* 🙄 & premiums will likely increase.
The subsidies were put into place by the bipartisan, Biden-era Inflation Reduction Act. CMS Director Oz called them a "bailout", saying they weren't needed since the admin is "stabilizing the market," lowering drug prices for #Medicare recipients w/ efforts like MFN (rel. to international trade) & getting recipients access to GLP-1s for $50/month.

The #TrumpAdmin is ending a subsidy that helps lower the cost of #Medicare prescription drug plans. It will now end at the end of 2026, a year earlier than originally planned.
The move is expected to raise monthly premiums for millions of Medicare Part D beneficiaries in 2027, though how much is yet to be seen. #MedicareD is not ending and broader Medicare prescription drug reforms like annual out-of-pocket caps and lower insulin costs will remain.

The reasoning seems like an excuse to re-impose blanket tariffs because:1) It's unrealistic that the #TrumpAdmin investigated 60 countries' supply chains in depth in such a short amount of time, nevermind found forced labor in all of them.
2) When his blanket #tariffs were struck down by SCOTUS, #trump commented that his admin would figure another way to impose blanket tariffs.

Nonsense. #Trump will still be earning revenue from his posts as he directly influences #trading #markets. He is also not divested from those investment accounts, even if they are handled by financial professionals. He knows what companies he invests in & could drive up those stocks accordingly with his posts. -
