Interesting observation for my own posterity... I had a good #A1C at the latest check-up (6.7 IIRC). The doc took me off of glipizide as a result, hoping that just #trulicity would be sufficient. However, now, for the past month, I've been struggling to control my blood sugar. And, when it gets high enough, the effect is... oddly reminiscent of being high. It's not the same effect of course, but... it's close enough for me to notice. Huh. 🤷

They aren't playing with these #Ozempic type meds.
Just got prescribed one for the first time since the pandemic.
Got really sick and checked into the ER on #Trulicity because I didn't understand how they worked.
Apparently, now there is a safety flag for certain doses.
These things are no fucking joke!

Wife developed #gastroparesis really bad & saw many specialists over the past several years & it just got worse. So bad that they were talking about options like a stimulator or a drain tube, which would be ironic because I have a feeding tube. We joked, "I would have one for input, she would have one for output."
A new #nurse practitioner determined it was her #Trulicity causing it, took her off of it &added mealtime insulin

One of the articles seems to indicate a study shows efficacy for up to 3 years.
This is interesting because this seems to fall in line with my weight loss/appetite modulation only lasting maybe 2 to 3 years.
But over a decade on this medication for it’s prescribed purpose…you know, the diabetes…management continues to be good with the latest version of these, Mounjaro. Even at max dose, my appetite is “normal”.

@Fury Lame. Yeah, #Ozempic was ordered for me when the #Mounjaro supply went dry, but that never went through. #Trulicity just didn’t do it for me. So a good 2 months with not great management. Really struggled to stay above 60% TIR, let alone the recommended 70%.
And I’m on a low carb diet.

Despite being back on a GLP-1 RA (Trulicity 3mg) and significantly increasing my basal insulin, my BG is still staying stubbornly high. I’m doing what I can, diet-wise, to try to manage things.
Since I had some other stuff to request refills for, I added Mounjaro 15mg to the list to retry. Still can’t order from the online pharmacy, but maybe I can luck out with CVS.
I’m getting tempted to just request going on MDI.

I plan to reorder Mounjaro 15mg at some point before I run out of Trulicity. Just checked and my online pharmacy is still not allowing orders for these.
So the shortage continues.
The Trulicity just isn’t doing as good of a job. I’ve mostly dialed in my management, but I definitely have higher insulin requirements to achieve it.

So it appears my insurance provider may have sent the wrong automated message about coverage. It was, in fact, concerning Trulicity, but it was intended to inform that prior authorization was approved.

I follow #Ozempic #Mounjaro and #Trulicity because I’m diabetic. I occasionally see people, INCLUDING ALLEGED DOCTORS promoting their use for weight loss.
This promotes an ongoing shortage that is hurting people. Don’t do this.

I started Trulicity 3mg a bit after lunch today. My dinner didn’t cause a spike. I was already running a bit high as had been becoming the norm. But instead of spiking from dinner, I just floated around 180mg/dl, popping over and under the line for a while.
I’m now at the lowest I’ve been in about a week, floating between 120mg/dl and 135mg/dl.
I did lower my basal by 6U, but I’m still well above where I wasbefore all this. I’m predicting hypos at some point.

It’s arrived!
I don’t like how it was packed. It’s 100+F outside. The back side of the package away from the ice was 78F. Inside, not outside. It’s not supposed to exceed 80F.
I put the box next to the ice packs on the bottom of the stack in the fridge. I checked the fluid in the first pen and it was perfectly clear so I injected.
Now we wait!
I will be dropping my basal insulin dose tonight.

Looks like it’s confirmed I’ll be on Trulicity 3mg for the next 3 months. Order finally shipped.
Not ideal, but it’s something.

Still no real movement on getting me back on a GLP-1 RA. Cigna claims they’ve paid for it, but there’s no indication it’s actually in stock and being sent.
Still having management difficulties. 25g of carbs send me high. Guaranteed. Also my average is a bit high.
I’m considering requesting going MDI at least temporarily. My basal dose has gone from 24U to, now 36U. My production is on the low end so hyperinsulinemia shouldn’t be a concern.

Cigna cancelled my Trulicity as “duplicate”. Express Scripts is still showing it as processing though.
So it’s starting to look dire as to whether I can actually get any GLP-1 RA.

Looks like the earliest I’ll learn of the disposition of my Trulicity prescription is Monday.
Which likely means the earliest I’ll receive it is next Friday.
I can’t really increase my basal insulin much further as my overnight lows are around 90mg/dl. Yeah, there’s room there, but I need a bit of a margin.
But my TIR is still below 70%.

Mounjaro and Ozempic appear to no longer be available for ordering, apparently. At least for the doses I use. I now have an order in for Trulicity 3mg. I've been able to order the others in the past, only to watch them get cancelled, so this doesn't mean I'll get it.
Again, I use this for diabetes management, not weight loss. I haven't seen weight loss benefits from it in many years.

My 24h TIR fell today. Still no Ozempic or Mounjaro. I’ve emailed my endo’s office for next steps, possibly Trulicity.

Got some updates on my GLP-1 RA orders.
Mounjaro 15mg is fully cancelled everywhere. 12.5mg is still cancelled in one place and backorder in another.
Ozempic 2mg went from backorder to in process and then back to backorder.
If I still have none of this by Friday morning, I’m going to email my endo’s office about maybe trying Trulicity 4.5mg.
As far as my TIR, it’s better today with more insulin use. Still not great.

Hi, I am about to start taking #trulicity a #type2diabetes medication as I need to lose a little weight as well as control my diabetes. Could I ask if anyone would be happy to share any side effects experienced? I am happy to take it but any recommendations of what to expect would be appreciated.
