I just found my *TRS-80 Model 100 Portable Computer* (to give it its full name) in a box while attempting to do some de-cluttering. I thought I'd lost this computer in one of my many moves. I did quite a bit of my PhD (writing mostly but also some coding and, of course, connecting to the university systems via its built-in 300 baud modem) using this wee computer. I have some fond memories of using this computer.

Must find some AA batteries and see if it still works. No reason why it shouldn't?

I also found my first "proper" laptop, a Toshiba T1000SE. I used to use this in my 1 hour each way daily rail commute to work in Scotland.

I wonder what else I'll find?

Question now: what do I do with these computers? Suggestions welcome!

Looks okay inside, replaced 5 iffy electrolytic caps, will need to go back to change the NiCad battery

Needs a good cleanup, especially the keyboard

@hotkey Yeah, they are a bit addictive when you get into it. Buy one, then before you know it, you have a closet and workbench full of 'restorable' parts units! So I tell myself.

My shelf of shame has non-working or 'slightly broken' units that are salvageable. My journey is to learn more about them while I repair them. I hope :)
