Hi! I am JC (they/them), a non-binary queer living in the Pacific Northwest. I've been playing all sorts of #TRPGs since '99 - from rulesy games to simple games, conventional to experimental - all can be fun.
I've found good games share more in common than not, just what we do is shuffled around in different ways.
My favorite games are: The Riddle of Steel, Sorcerer, Classic Traveller, and Hero Wars.
Current games are: The Riddle of Steel, Runequest 2nd.
In the queue: Lace & Steel, Bushido

At the office preparing to teach narratology for the new master students tomorrow. So of course I am playing Knight Forlorn, the new GMless and solo RPG from Bläckfisk.
My poor knight suffered horribly and died pretty quickly. Shit happens I guess. An interesting journaling experience, for sure. I might write up the notes as a story for my Patreon later.

🦈So I don't think I posted on Fedi that I'm working on a #tarot guide for #solorpg players.
Anyway, I'm getting the itch to try it out with a number of #trpgs, one of which is #cyberpunkred and thought I might post excerpts from the game logs here. -
I have gotten quite a lot of use out of shorter #TRPGs to be honest...
The bigger games I have used have been later editions that often felt either bloated with useless text (CoC) or bloated with pointless graphic design (into the odd)
Just this week I ditched a comparatively large game (OSE) mid-campaign and switched over to a game that's about 20 pages long (The Knights of the Road)
I understand the economics of big games and I understand wanting big books but I do not need them.

http://gamehistory.org/87percent/
The @gamehistoryorg has determined through research that 87% of the history of video games is basically not available (especially not legally) it makes me wonder how much of tabletop role-playing history is the same way? How much of anime history (and not just the original version, but dubs as well)?

I have ALWAYS loved reading the lore of #TRPGs! Had to pick this up for Orbital Vampire Tower, Acid Metal Howl, and Kraken Corpse Delve!

Ran my first session of #CalloftheNetherdeep this weekend. #DND
It went great – but was surprised that the first thing my players asked when they heard about baby horizonback turtles was if they could buy 'em. DM be aware!
So now they own two turtle babies big enough to transport them around Xhoras. #CriticalRole #Critters #TRPGS

#academic and #TTRPG people, may I please ping your networks? I'm scrying for information on groups / programmes where young learners (roughly Grade/Year 3) play #notech #TRPGs for any variety of #learning purposes. The info is part of the initial #Research for my #phd on #ttrpgkids , #metacognition and #language & #literacies development. Informal or formal, all matter. (No-tech: issues of access; digital divide)
