Can’t connect to public WiFi via Linux

I am using Fedora 42, and I am unable to access the captive portal of inOui TGV. I can connect to the WiFi with no problems, but I can’t get access to the Internet.

I have tried everything:

1. Connecting to 192.168.1.1, to http://neverssl.com, to http://wifi.sncf via browser
2. Running sudo dhclient -r and rebooting the device
3. Running systemctl restart NetworkManager
4. Also other stuff I tried in the past with other public WiFis. I am sure there is something wrong with my specific device configuration, it’s not this network.

Nothing works 😩

Can somebody who understands this stuff help me?

@Computer Thank you, friend computer! I too would like to compliment my superiors. They have managed at an acceptable level at all times when I have seen them. Many coworkers say that, but for their presence, levels of execution would have plummeted much faster. Without their leadership, we would not have as much treasonable activity to #troubleshoot. I have even seen them use #alphacomplex resources as intended, more than once! Just this month efficiency crossed the 20% "watershed" line, and is now 17%.

Can anyone offer a guess as to why I'm getting an HSTS error only on one computer?
I've run all Windows updates and a full virus/malware scan, and still can't load hippyjo.com or idwerkz.com on my desktop machine, in any browser.
They load fine on my laptop and phone though.
I've cleared cache, DNS, for windows and Chrome, and Firefox.
SSL certificate is valid, though I am not certain my hosting service has configured everything else properly. But they seem to load fine on every device other than my desktop.
I've exhausted my brain - can't figure out why the problem is only on this machine.
Please and thank you in advance for any ideas of what might be going on.

Troubleshooting tip:
DNS reverted after changing /etc/"resolv.conf"
From the manpage, I find that there is a file named "resolvconf.conf".
I have to change the variable "resolvconf" to "NO"
So, I create "resolvconf.conf", and add the line:

resolveconf NO

When I run
resolvconf -u

The process never stop until I press
<Ctrl>+C
Then, I reboot the computer and find that the reboot process never ends.
So, I press <Ctrl>+C again.
Then, I try

resolvconf - u

again, and the process never ends.
I press <Ctrl>+C, that does not kill the process yet.
From another terminal, I connect to root and check with the 'ps' command what the problem is, and see in a lot of line the command:

resolvconf NO

A bottomless recursion!
So, I understand that the lines in "resolvconf.conf" invoke shell commands.
It should be

resolvconf=NO

So, I edit the file. Problem solved!

If you have another UNIX-like system, find your way to edit that files.

When running dbus-run-session startplasma-wayland, I see this error constantly reoccuring: dbus-daemon[7000]: [session uid=1000 pid=7000] Activated service 'org.freedesktop.systemd1' failed: Process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status 1. I assume this is why #KDEPlasma 6 doesn't start, and I get a black screen with a cursor (and whatever programs are set to autostart). I think it might have to do with these errors:

unable to lock lockfile /run/user/1000/wayland-0.lock, maybe another compositor is running
unable to lock lockfile /run/user/1000/wayland-1.lock, maybe another compositor is running

Was getting massive lag in Clip Studio Paint every 5 seconds that made drawing impossible. Here's my fix:

• I use multiple monitors
• It's a Windows Issue
• In Display Settings, I turned the monitors off until there was just one, then I turned them back on again

It was really bad. It made drawing impossible. It just kept getting worse. I think a recent Windows update caused it. No matter how much I looked for an answer, everything was a dead end, or the answers were really weird (like installing Krita somehow fixed the problem)

But not matter what I tried, nothing worked. A friend ended up suggesting that it was a common Windows issue with Windows 10 that was supposed to be fixed in Win 11, but it's not. Still mouse lag with multiple monitors

I was close to trying to uninstall and reinstall the program, but nope. Turning the monitors off and on again happened to fix it. So I'm putting this info out there for anyone else that may be having this problem

SPECIFICALLY it's an issue with multiple monitors at DIFFERENT refresh rates. I just got a 165 Hz monitor while my other monitors are 60 Hz

Hello fedi, I need some urgent help. I updated my BIOS, and then my PC booted. After, I changed some settings back, because they had been reset. I Aldo changed the FCLK frequency to be half of my dram freq. However, after disabling the igpu again, I forgot to change the initiate graphical adapter from IGD to PEG. My PC won't boot with a CPU and ram warning light. I have tried bridging the reset CMOS pins with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm afraid I've broken something permanently.
