Achray 1979. A map from the Golden Age of orienteering cartography. Chopped in two - the big part of the map was used for the individual Scottish Championships and the northern bit the relay run by #EUOC . I liked the lighting on this tree beside Loch Venachar. It looks like the remains of the trunk is in the spotlight on a stage. You can get really interesting lighting like this in heavily wooded areas, which is why I like walking in them with a camera.

Wasn't sure what chippy to go to in Callander now Mhor Fish is gone. Went to the one at 85 Main Street (use to be the Fiery Cross) and would ya look at this badboy! That solves that then.

Nice day for a walk around Loch Venachar. We used to have loch nights at the head of the loch when I was a teenager, but I'd never walked round it before. 12.75 miles on good tracks and minor roads.
