    For a band whose members are only graduating from university this year, the first Trooper Salute album 友達がいました seems incredibly mature.

    They've only been going a few years (they're only in their very early twenties), and their initial releases were more straightforward indie pop that left me somewhat cold, but this a huge step forward. Really impressive.

    I never really "got" the previous Trooper Salute releases, but the two songs from their upcoming album are both fantastic.

    A big step forward IMO, or maybe a step sideways into more interesting and slightly weirder territory, but without losing their pop sensibilities completely.
