It was released in January 1988 as the fourth single from Jackson's seventh solo album, #Bad (1987). In the US, "Man in the Mirror" became Jackson's ninth number-one single on the #Billboard #Hot100 and was certified #triplePlatinum. It was nominated for #RecordOfTheYear at the #31stGrammyAwards.
