From Ragtag Daily Prompt today’s word is: Foliage
Not that it isn’t all pretty, but there isn’t a whole lot of interesting foliage here in Minnesota until the fall when the leaves start changing, but if you look closely there’s some cool stuff to see.
Little bugs better think twice before trying to eat this petunia.

Thanks to the magic of #macro, I don't even know which of my balcony weeds* this is, and from which pot. But who cares, right?
After several months with a macro lens I already found one of my favourite subjects: plant 'hairs', apparently called #trichomes.* technically they aren't weeds because I haven't intentionally planted anything in said pots, but it's shorter to type than 'wild-growing grasses I never sowed but they still keep growing every year'.

Trichomes of radicchio (a red bitter type salad common here in Italy) visible at the cell detail.
I'm so happy I got a pretty sharp pic even with my janky setup, in one of the photos the vacuoles with high anthocyanin (purple colour) content look pretty good!
