So, figure I'll write about this here as the post I was going to write it as a reply was either deleted or I got blocked for asking a question (seriously).

So, it was regarding a hunting sign issue, and the question I had was whether it was a hunting issue or a trespassing issue, and the reason is the purple paint laws.

So I became aware of these a year or so ago when delivering in a more rural forested part of the St Louis metro, I'd noticed some of the trees along the road I was driving on had a purple stripe on them, so when I got home, I looked it up. Around 17 states at the time, might be more by now, and not Missouri, have these laws, a purple stripe around a fence post or a tree (don't use oil paint on a tree), serves as a no trespassing sign legally. Those signs have a habit of going missing, something that's unlikely to happen with a fence post or a tree obviously.

I'd assume there are similar laws in other countries, dunno, but it'd definitely be a good idea regardless of whether your a land owner or a hiker. You don't really want to get arrested or worse because you didn't know, and obviously if'n your a land owner, this can help deal with signs that conveniently go missing.

That was a long time ago. Still, having a farmer yelling at me, it got my back up.
