The #Trenhotel night train #Lusitânia for #Madrid 🇪🇸 is ready to depart from #Lisbon 🇵🇹 Santa Apolonia station, one evening in April 2009. Two locos are positioned ahead of the rake of #Talgo cars: a #CP Class 2600 will haul the train over the first, electrified, part of the journey. Later on, the Class 1930 diesel, already in place behind the 2500, will take over.

@goatsarah @jon I would absolutely *love* to be able to travel corner-to-corner, coast-to-coast on the Iberian peninsula by sleeper train. Perhaps this will come back, one day. For example, get on a train in Alicante or Murcia at 10pm after an early supper and wake up in Galicia or Lisbon 👌…
RENFE axed all the sleeper trains.
Public services should not be run according to how much shareholder value they can generate.

Die Verbindung, die ich damals mehrfach gefahren bin, #Paris-#Madrid, gibt es seit vielen Jahren nicht mehr. Es gibt wohl noch andere #Trenhotel-Strecken, aber die bin ich nie gefahren und ich weiß nicht, ob die auch so gute #Speisewagen haben.
Vielleicht weiß z.B. @jon mehr darüber?
