Today is #ANZAC day, the 25th April. On this day, 111 years ago, the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps landed at Gallipoli. A relatively minor (and disastrous) campaign for British forces, but the first big battle Australia & New Zealand were involved in as nations. As such, it is a somberly commemorated event each year.
Lest we forget.
While I haven't written up a coin confirmed to be related to the battle, I do have a 1902-10 penny turned into "art". Possibly trench art? Possibly just done by someone before or after the war, but either way, still an interesting piece: https://coinofnote.com/1902-10-uk-penny-art/
