Zyll the goblin is pure chaotic energy and I loved every second of it. Brigands and Breadknives is the third book in Travis Baldree's cozy fantasy world and while it's not quite my favorite of the three the characters alone make it worth reading. Four stars.

@Mellando ja, habe auch vorher #TravisBaldree gelesen und #RebeccaThorne fühlt sich nicht ganz so rund an, aber auch kein schlichtes Rip-Off. Habe mir den zweiten Band via Libby/Overdrive reserviert - 14 Wochen Wartezeit bei HCPL, "mehrere Monate" bei der Queer Liberation Library QLL. Aber ich habe ja auch noch etwas #RFKuang und seit gestern den neuesten von #SamanthaShannon, auf Papier vor mir - und Edward Underhill "In Between Bookstore" und #DevaFagan "House of Dusk" wollen gehört werden.

Picked up #TravisBaldree 's latest book, #BrigandsAndBreadinives today, and felt a little bad for having not yet read the previous. But since I've recently uncovered my reading spot from under all the other junk, I'm making a refreshed effort to read more. Starting with actually finishing the last book I started months ago.

I don't think there was anything in particular I didn't love about this book. The characters are absolutely endearing and have a way of making you smile with their cute little quirks. I also really enjoyed seeing Viv open up and forge friendships with others who were generally known to be disliked, or awkward...

I had a dream last night where I was involved in some kind of organized crime run by a professional football star who'd been canceled for bad behavior. When I woke up, I had to look up the guy's name to see if he was really in the NFL: Travis Baldree. The Legends and Lattes guy.

Halfway through #LegendsandLattes by #TravisBaldree and I am pleasantly surprised how much I enjoy it! Haven't even gotten to the romance yet and the story alone has completely pulled me in and the characters are so endearing 🥰. I think I'm slowly starting to expand on the genres I enjoy. I'm excited to have found another author I think I'll easily return to again and again.

Just finished #BookshopsAndBonedust and loved it! A prequel to #LegendsAndLattes, #TravisBaldree gives us another heart-warming cozy fantasy. Following Viv this time at the beginning of her career, it has a bit more action, but it’s not too much to feel out of place with the series (giving Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking vibes). I loved the new cast of quirky characters and the delicate nods to the first book peppered throughout. And the epilogue made me cry. Well done. #Bookstodon

Just finished reading: Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree

Wow! A lovely story in an unexpectedly fun genre, Cozy Fantasy. The characters were endearing and their story charming. I enjoyed watching them build their niche business (basically, fantasy characters stumble over the concept of creating a homey Starbucks) and “invent” the treats we take for granted in our world. The pleasant tale was all the more engaging as it was narrated by the author (a talented voiceover professional). Bonus points for subtle, non-token LBGTQ inclusion.

There had better be a sequel in the works, or so help me I’ll- *shakes fist* (Edit: Travis Baldree just announced the prequel. It's called Bookshops and Bonedust and is set 20 years earlier. Yay!)
