  1. 🚨 Travel Warning from Namibia 🚨

I arrived in Windhoek full of excitement for my journey across Africa… and within hours, everything went wrong.

I was attacked and robbed by two armed men on this very stairway. The first went straight for my stomach with a knife, while the second came from behind, aiming for my ribs. In that split second, I had to fight for my life. I managed to throw the second attacker down the stairs, but the first escaped with my phone and all my data, including everything from Zanzibar to Namibia.

I survived, but it was terrifying. For two weeks, I waited in Windhoek for police action. Nothing happened. No phone. No SD card. Just disappointment and frustration. I eventually had to move on, shaken but alive.

Because of this experience, I cannot recommend Namibia for tourism anymore. The landscapes are stunning, but the risk of violent robbery is real.

I’m sharing this so others can stay alert, protect themselves, and make informed decisions. Travel can be amazing, but sometimes the worst can happen when you least expect it.

📹 The video below also shows the stairway for a short moment where it all happened.

  6. Green: At the bridge entrance I got robbed.

Red: Two attackers came from both sides with knives and tried to stab me. I held one. When I threw the other head-first down the stairs, the one I held ran away.

Blue: He hit his head against the steel and passed out.

  7. In 1 hour I found out more than the Namibian tourist police in 2 days. Travel here? Not recommended. 1.6k visa isn’t worth it.

Two days ago I was attacked by two armed robbers right after arriving. Had to fight them off. Phone stolen.

    More details on my blog.

  10. ‘Don’t go to the US – not with Trump in charge’: the UK tourist with a valid visa detained by ICE for six weeks

    theguardian.com/us-news/2026/f

When she asked why she was being detained, an officer told her his supervisor had instructed him to hold her. “Individual ICE agents get money per head that they detain – the guards told me that,” Karen says.

  11. I say this with true sincerity:

If you have plans to visit the United States, you should consider canceling them. If you are already within the confines of the United States (and its territories) and have the means to leave, you should consider doing so. It is no longer safe within the United States, neither as a visitor nor as a citizen. Government officials have resorted to kidnapping people, shooting those who resist, and rounding up those who speak out. People who have been taken have vanished with no record of where they were taken, and many have not been heard from again.

This is the current situation unfolding here.

  12. #Kenya banned me because I told immigration to call my embassy when they denied me exit (2023). They refused. I called later — after being stuck in the country. That’s the real reason behind their rage.

  19. So a little #unsettling. Just discovered someone had broken the latches on the bathroom window & balcony door on our cabin, so they won’t lock. We’ve reported to management, & have temporarily fixed, but it is clear this was done on purpose, so posting this to #warn other #travellers to check that the locks work on all doors to your rooms & cabins when #travelling, & if they are not working report the problem and get it fixed right away.
