Potty training doesn’t stop just because you’re on vacation. In fact, travelling somehow makes it even more unpredictable. We've tested countless travel products over the years. These are the ones that survived multiple family vacations, long-haul flights, and two kids—and still have a permanent spot in our suitcase. Fast forward a few years, and I've learned that the right travel gear can make the difference between an enjoyable family vacation and spending an entire flight counting down the […]

  11. From W1 to the White Isle: A Soho Creative’s Guide to Ibiza Art Weekender | My Soho Times

I’m heading to Ibiza this weekend however, unlike my last trip a few years ago, this one comes with a cultural agenda.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CwX9KSioLHm/?igsh=MWVxamoyanNjNHc3Nw==

From 8–9 May 2026, Ibiza plays host to the inaugural Culture Collective Ibiza Art Weekend, a first-of-its-kind programme set to transform the island’s most iconic venues into immersive exhibition spaces. Positioned within a wider season-long initiative, it is expected to become Europe’s largest public art event, bringing together over 70 international artists across fine art, digital, urban art, music and fashion.

Led by The Night League and W1 Curates, the weekend unfolds across Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa Ibiza and DJ Mag’s newly crowned number one club in the world, UNVRS, reframing these spaces as cultural canvases.

Across the two days, expect a mix of panel discussions, artist talks and large-scale installations embedded directly into the venues. Highlights include a 70-metre digital work by Michael Craig-Martin, monumental murals from PichiAvo, and a permanent 68m² stone carving by Vhils at UNVRS. The programme also features Seth Troxler and Remi Kabaka Jr, co-creator and producer of Gorillaz, reinforcing the crossover between music and contemporary visual culture.

At its core, the weekend aims to redefine how art is experienced and disrupt the traditional gallery format, moving it out of institutional spaces into the places where people already gather. You’re not choosing between culture and nightlife — you’re experiencing both seamlessly from day to night.

As curator Mark Dale of W1 Curates explains:

“The intention for Culture Collective is to make art more accessible and showcase world-class work in front of a global audience. We are reimagining the traditional gallery, placing artworks in more vibrant and dynamic settings, and connecting cultures. Ibiza has long been a crossroads of creative energy, and by transforming some of the world’s most iconic club venues into living canvases, we are redefining how art is experienced—making it immersive, immediate and unifying.”

What you get with your Art Weekend pass:

    • Entry to all panel discussions
    • Entry to CamelPhat presents Summer of Love at Hï Ibiza on Friday 8 May
    • Entry to ANTS Day & Night across Ushuaïa Ibiza and UNVRS on Saturday 9 May
    • Full access to all of the above with one ticket (from €150 – tickets available here)

As I prepare to swap the streets of Soho for the shores of Playa d’en Bossa, my focus is now on what makes it into the carry-on. If, like me, you’re travelling light without compromising on style, every piece needs to work for a panel, a pool, and a party… or two.

    FLANNELS x W1 Curates Summer Pop-Up

Before Ibiza, there’s summer at FLANNELS.

Running from 1–23 May 2026, the FLANNELS x W1 Curates Summer pop-up has turned Oxford Street into a live canvas. Digital artworks move across the building’s façade, and inside a curated selection of luxury brands becomes part of the installation.

The summer edit on the lower ground floor leans into brands like Desierto, Cult Gaia and Isabel Beachwear. Sculptural, fluid, and designed to be seen. That intersection of art and fashion sets the tone for how to approach packing for, say, Ibiza.

The Ibiza Icon: Annie’s Ibiza, Soho

You can’t do a Soho-to-Ibiza run without Annie’s Ibiza. The pieces sit firmly in that wearable art space. Beaded dresses, embellished vests, and a strong presence of feathers throughout the collection.

Feather boas are the smart addition for a weekend trip: lightweight, easy to pack, and instantly impactful. They bring that elevated, slightly playful energy without the weight of heavier pieces.

The versitle Essential: Paola Amador Bow Bikini

The ultimate packing hack is versatility.

Paola Amador bow bikinis aren’t just swimwear; they function as sculptural accessories. Style the red bow over a crisp white tee for the Friday art symposium, bringing a subtle London layering approach into the heat of Ibiza. The black version works solo with high-waisted dark denim for the Saturday night finale, shifting into a confident, yet sexy, after-dark silhouette.

    The “Techno-Black” Uniform

I’ll always lean towards colour, but for those who prefer a monochrome moment, Saturday night is your lane.

ANTS has built its identity around its “colony” aesthetic, where black becomes an unspoken dress code rather than a rule. For the closing at UNVRS, expect a crowd that leans heavily into this.

Think breathable mesh, lightweight technical fabrics, and structured silhouettes that hold up across a full day-to-night run.

    Accessories That Do the Work

If space isn’t on your side (and realistically, we’re not paying for check-in luggage when that could go towards a spicy margarita fund), accessories do the heavy lifting.

The Desierto collection at FLANNELS stands out. The brand redefines botanical luxury through a Mexican lens, moving into sculptural, architectural forms. Oversized earrings and bold silhouettes that sit somewhere between jewellery and art.

    The Grounding Piece: Dr. Martens

Footwear needs to be functional. Dr. Martens balances that with edge. I personally love the Voss II Athena platform sandal for its height and durability, ideal for navigating the scale of Hï Ibiza and holding up through a full day-to-night schedule.

    The Survival Kit

    The Vessel: Airpack Go
Designed for short trips, with built-in vacuum compression to maximise space without overpacking. Ideal for fitting a four-day wardrobe into one carry-on.

    The Bare Minimum: Strip Soho
Packing light generally equates to more bare skin on show — and confidence becomes part of the outfit. A visit to Strip Soho on Berwick Street is less about routine maintenance and more about that feeling of being ready. Ready for the pool, the panels, the late nights, and everything in between without having to pack a shaving stick!

The Skin Prep: Dr L’Art London
Don’t step on the plane without prepping your skin for what’s set to be a packed weekend. Dr L’Art London clinic on New Oxford Street offers the Cryo Facial by Gelida, designed to cool the skin, support lymphatic drainage and reset your complexion. It’s all about visible freshness with zero downtime. Ideal when you’re landing late and heading straight into a 10am panel the next day.

    The Finishing Touch: nail appointment
A fresh mani-pedi is the final detail before departure. Whether you’re networking at a daytime panel, reaching for a margarita, or throwing your hands in the air at 3am, it’s about feeling put together without trying too hard. Small detail, big shift in confidence.

The Shield: Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 50
Whatever you do, do not forget SPF. This one’s my holy grail for a glow that stays protected without that gross, heavy residue.

Holiday Fragrance: Rabanne Fame In Love
Works perfectly for this kind of weekend, built around notes of strawberry, green mandarin, basil, jasmine, and vanilla. Fresh enough for the day, warm enough to carry into the night.

    The Vision: Moscat, Soho
A strong pair of sunglasses is essential. Moving between Ibiza sunlight and large-scale digital installations calls for frames that balance protection with a clean, architectural finish.

At the intersection of art, music, and style, Ibiza Art Weekend is set to break the mold. Art is no longer contained by galleries, but shaped by the spaces we move through.

And if the impact of W1 Curates transforming Oxford Street’s FLANNELS façade into a rotating public art platform since 2020 is anything to go by, this is only the beginning.
