Either a true #premonition from a previous life which means that it's all #imagination and can only be #self-fulfilling #prophecy if it occurs or #trauma created imagination from my #childhood informed me by the time I was pre-teen that I would do something important. Maybe that was surviving drugs.

Sat across from someone this week who finally understood: their addiction was never about the substance. It was about the pain underneath it.
Trauma is the root. The substance was the branch. You can cut branches all day — but until you tend to the root, something new just grows back.
