I've been working on my Sector Space build. Today, someone granted me diplomatic immunity (a SS speed buff) just when I needed it to test, and I have OFFICIALLY broken transwarp 100! WITHOUT the Protostar-class! I'm strongly considering getting the Protostar as my next infinity ship just to see how hard Fed characters can push SS speed (KDF characters have access to a few buffs that FED don't, so AFAIK they will always have the edge for max speeds in sector space).

My hostname for my work laptop.
Laptops are always named after Star (Wars|Trek) ships, desktops after planets.
The U.S.S. Excelsior was "The Great Experiment," designed to be the very fastest ship in the early-mid Star Trek Movie era.
Its revolutionary #TransWarp drive was sadly a failure. Not exactly sure why, but I surmise they could never make it stable enough.
When I got this laptop, it had horrible stability issues and graphics glitches, so the combination of the fact that it was the fastest machine I had, and really unstable made the name a perfect choice.
If you can think back to screenshots I posted a couple years back, my desktop wallpaper was the U.S.S. Excelsior. ;)
