- That $3000 isn't a discount offered by tollway companies. The money will come from the government, using taxes collected from citizens. We'll be paying for it.
- It's a handout to Transurban as a thankyou for political donations to the Liberal Party.
- If they start this scam, they won't stop after two years. It will continue forever.
- Tollway companies will jack-up their prices by the same amount as the "saving" so customers won't see any difference.This brainfart was brought to you by the same neocon tools that gave a bunch of public highways (that had been built with money paid for by tax-payers) to rent-extracting tollway companies.

Oft bin ich mit dem Hund im #Innenhafen in #Duisburg spazieren gegangen und habe mir gesagt: Irgendwann schwimmst Du mal hier durch.
Bislang war das jedoch verboten und extra deshalb für den IronMan anmelden, deren Schwimmstrecke hier verlief, wollte ich mich auch nicht.
Jetzt kann man es für kurze Zeit legal, kostenlos und sogar unter Beaufsichtigung: Schwimmen im Innenhafen. Das Künstlerkollektiv #Transurban macht’s möglich. 👍🏽

Sydney Morning Herald reporting the NSW government is subsidising road tolls by $500 million, backdated to July 2022. Each driver can receive up to a $750 payment. These are toll roads operated by a private company, so are in effect a subsidy for Transurban.
