With respect: when you live inside a box, it's hard to look outside it, or to think that the box should have anything other than four wheels.

This is partly why western observers have missed the Toyota I-ROAD and the C+pod (okay the latter does have four wheels).

But the really exciting part of the #TransportationTransition: The vast majority of EVs on the planet have TWO wheels.

Denver gets $1M in cumulative *annual* savings from the program. This is how climate action is an *investment* not an expense.

The program saved 0.94 lb CO2e per dollar spent, for a total of 2,040 MT CO2e avoided emissions per year.

Best of all:
29% of Denver ebike redeemers who completed the program survey indicated they were new to riding.

That's mostly because car makers make you buy electric SUVs. Electric sedans would cost quite a bit less - but they're not interested in saving you money.

This is why the EPA rule needs to be fortified with *electrical* fuel efficiency requirements as well as #emissions. Driving smaller cars would hasten the #TransportationTransition (and save us money).

It's early days. You don't go from 0% EVs to 100% overnight. When smartphones came on the scene some fraction of us also thought it was not for us. I'd say at this point 4 in 10 Americans is not bad: the rest haven't thought about it yet (a car stays with you for 15 years) or watch Fox noise.
