Good morning from the Main valley

Went to pick up a couple of packages that were some shoes
I got really frustrated and depressed by the shopping experience last weekend trying to find some smart pumps/court shoes
Nearly all of my shoes and boots are secondhand from eBay and Vinted.
I’m normally an eu42 so not exactly huge. I know plenty of women who have a much harder time finding nice footwear. The biggest dept store had a choice of two 42s. Both were too narrow.

My wife bought some lovely purple suede loafers 💕

It’s all downhill from here 😭🤣

On yesterday’s ride I was thinking about what sort of girl I would have been: if I would’ve been a shy awkward girl in the same way as I was a shy awkward boy, or if having by brain and body in some sort of alignment would have allowed me to thrive. If I would’ve been able to embrace my femininity or if I would have been terrified of standing out.

Either way I would have missed out on the many amazing experiences that I’ve enjoyed since discovering that I’m trans; it brings a special self awareness that I think is rare amongst cis people.

My wife talked to her mum this morning, my BiL wasn’t there. My only concern is that he will make things difficult for my wife, he’s a bit of an asshole and seems to have taken the role of family boss/bully since their father died at new year. I’m sure he would have been vile about my transition.

Just to clarify, I don’t post so many selfies and stuff because I think I’m hot, or because I’m really confident in who I am (although this is getting better), but because I have crippling self esteem issues and need people to say I look nice. I feel like I have a massive hole where the praise growing up should have been, and often this leads to poor attachment issues. It’s on the list of things to try and fix….

Happy Thursday friends

I’m waiting for my 4 week post op meeting, drinking coffee and hanging out with the gay dragon seahorse couple we adopted from Barcelona

Kinda nervous about heading back to school tomorrow; this’ll be the first time I’ve met anyone since my ffs. Just gotta jump in tho

I’ve also been thinking a lot about some of the chats I’ve had with school colleagues recently, about how many of them (all cis women) feel freer and more able to be themselves as a result of leaving their home countries. I feel great empathy with this even though our circumstances are not the same in other ways. Having the space and freedom to explore your identity is essential for growth, but so often our environment and the societal expectations prevents us from doing this (often this is subconscious as well, we don’t even realise until we’re free of it)
