I think I’ve asked this before but not sure I ever found an answer.

I’m still on #iOS26.1 because I came across some offhand comment that the defunct #Transmit app from @panic that I still use often had finally stopped working.

Always have meant to try confirming and get my phone updated but I’ve procrastinated.

Is anyone still using Transmit and also on iOS 26.4?

Using @panic Transmit’s Droplets as a workaround for Transmit’s lack of Shortcuts actions became a hassle.

I’ve now given up on that approach and bought FTP Files ( https://ftpfiles.app by @palmin ), which does implement native Shortcuts actions and makes everything so much easier. It also supports Finder integration (like Transmit used to with Transmit Disk).

So for anyone wanting FTP actions like upload/download/list in Shortcuts, FTP Files seems to be the solution.

Also ich habe mir neben #Transmit als (S)FTP-Client nun nach Jahren auch mal wieder #Cyberduck angeschaut. Transmit wiegt dabei nur gute 70MB während Cyberduck satte 260MB auf die Waage bringt. Dabei könne beide das Gleiche.

I feel like there would be quite a lot of Shortcuts users who could make use of Transmit actions if Panic ever implements them.

(This was actually available many moons ago, when Shortcuts was still Workflow and Transmit for iOS existed!)

Does anyone know a GUI application for Mac that can download and regularly synchronize a large (50GB) Google Cloud Storage or AWS S3 bucket?

I tried ForkLift which was not even able to connect, and Transmit does not seem to be suitable for large amounts of data (can't tell if its progress bars are crap or it has stalled).

I just switched from Transmit to ForkLift recently after the latter changed their SSH implementation from libssh2 to OpenSSH, making use of the default SSH configuration of your user.

I buy a fair amount of apps I don’t use much or at all. Like #transmit. Perfect example. It’s amazing and beautiful. If I ever need to do what it does, I want to be ready!

And I’m telling you, the other options I’ve seen / tried all suck donkey balls.

Fine way to spend a Saturday! Embroiled in the inner machinations of transferring my #Transmit ftp logins and web server #CPanel passwords to new MBP. It’s only been about 15 years now that Mrs. L has been telling me to get a little paper book to write logins in. I concede. 🤦🏻‍♂️👩🏻‍💻

Some older stuff like audion is free now => https://download-keycdn.panic.com/ .

Can someone give me a tip for a #SFTP client under #OSx (M1 Ventura). I have #Filezilla and #Transmit 5. Filezilla on Mac with ssh keyfiles is a total pain. Need putty to convert keys in .PPK and then fails often. Transmit... can't do copy+paste with paths WTF!!. On #Windows I use #bitvise which is perfect. As #SSH console I use #CoreShell, I kinda like it better than OSX terminal.

@limi I bought a Power Mac G4 MDD last week. So I now have a very well working and fast Mac OS X 10.5 machine :)

#hellosystem is the closest if you want something like that on modern hardware. But #Audion, #AppleWorks, #Transmit, … all the stuff that makes this old Mac OS so great besides the system core is missing today.
