    And being privileged like that, she's defending Rowling, and #transmisia, with a flowery call for »a bit of kindness, a bit of generosity of spirit, a willingness to get into the grey area to talk about these things calmly. To try and find common ground is the only path through this and it’s one that I’m committed to.«

    I wonder what she'd think about this "approach" if she still had to fight for her right to marry a woman, seeing the years and her own life just pass by, and suffering from lack of solidarity that is masking behind talk about "grey areas".

  8. @Geri not sure I'm conflicted about it on the one hand it can be taken to represent binary sex even with similar symbols for intersex and transgender exist since it creates rigid categories "man woman trans and intersex" which is in itself overly simplistic and plays into the binary preconceptions of rigid sex characteristics when in actuality its all a spectrum both sex and gender

    Transmisic people do use it for their bigotry but at the same time the identity of woman shouldnt belong to them.

    Its messy but it doesnt offend me personally

  13. In the past, I have talked positively about #SimpleXChat messenger @simplex being an emerging alternative to other messengers. I have even recommended trying it, to some.

    This is definitely ending today.

    Throughout 2025, I've repeatedly seen SimpleX's founder and director #EvgenyPoberezkin being quoted with some strange statements. This morning, after another such mention, I set aside some time to review his posting history.

    I ended up utterly appalled. Not by some lonely, isolated post I happened to stumble upon. Instead, the complete portfolio of extreme-right, "anti-woke", and libertarian BS gets promoted and reposted, continuously:

    Xenophobic rants about migrants; attacks against the European Convention on Human Rights (#EHCR); #transmisia; anti- #DEI agitation; support for JD Vance's fantasies about "missing freedom of speech" in Germany; climate change denial; anti-vaxxing crusades ("COVID vaccination was a genocide, on the scale well beyond Nazi war crimes"), and support for RFK Jr's other attacks on science; defamation of the welfare state; celebrating #Trump's "great leadership"; siding with him on declaring antifascists "terrorists"; praising fascist rallies in the UK; the list just goes on and on.

    Nothing good can come out of a place firmly under the control of such an individual.

    Please do not support the promotion of such agendas. Stay away from SimpleX Chat, and please forgive me for recommending that you try it.
