Ya qu'à moi que ça le fait ?
Souvent, quand j'entends des news sur #Trump, je pense à #Transmetropolitan .Warren Ellis a rien inventé, hein : Nixon, Reagan et Bush père étaient bien suffisants pour pas qu'on s'imagine de prophétie sur la gestion des scandales.
Mais l'histoire du pouvoir qui s'emballe au milieu de la saturation d'images et de consommation... Le côté politique preumdeug du #cyberpunk. On y est vraiment.

what i'm sure of is i want to create. something. stories, or comics, or music, or ... all of the above? professionally. as in, i want to make stuff and have people give me money.
i've been writing stories since i was a kid. making comics since i was a kid. ("since i was a kid" and not much since i graduated high school, so it's more a "remembered" than "active" part of my life. all the same.) when i was a teen i had a real burr up my ass to be a newspaper columnist, and that buried desire revives itself every time i reread #TRANSMETROPOLITAN.
not that i'd be any good at it. i'm not great at talking to people, i don't have a journalist's eye. nothing about what the job actually is materially appeals to me. ranting in public is fun but that's what blogs are for these days, and i used to have a blog! but i discontinued it years ago. i realized i wasn't saying anything new, anything worthwhile, just regurgitating what i'd read elsewhere, and ... i decided i respect my potential audience too much for that.
i know you do these things by doing them, but. i don't know. when i was a kid the adults around me treated everything i wrote like it was gold dripped from my fingers, ditto whatever i did musically, so i got a pretty swelled head about all that, but then i moved out of my small town and stopped getting attention for my supposed talents, so ... i stopped. easier to pretend i'm an amazing creator when i'm not actually creating anything, right? no chance of empirical evidence demonstrating i'm mediocre at best when i'm not actually trying.
and i hate that, and i hate that i still can't get past it. making things is all that really brings me joy, so why can't i just do it? -

Y me flipa leer #ElJueves. La decisión de hacerlo mensual me encanta y me he suscrito digitalmente para leerlo incluso más que antes. #IvanPer, #Teran y #RubenFernandez tienen el mismo humor roto que yo.
