I feel like I'm only truly motivated by negative emotions like anger and disgust. It's why of all the things/projects/hobbies/lifestyle changes I've started in my life, #Linux (2010 - ) and #veganism (2012 - ) are among the rare of examples of ones I haven't quit. And of course, #transitioning (2017 - ).

I really am very crochety.

Consider following your heart more than your head when charting a course through a nonbinary existence.

Many of the labels out there are unlikely to match perfectly with your experience. The more common narratives of transitioning tend to fit poorly as well.

But the labels, hows, and whys will sort themselves out with time for you. If not, then they will settle into a brand new and fascinating arrangement.

Transitioning can be more than moving from one end of a binary to the other.

There are all sorts of ways that nonbinary people transition. Some journeys are essentially the same as binary women and men. Others take a winding path that includes some changes and not others. Still more will go through cycles of change.

There are as many ways to go through a nonbinary transition as there are nonbinary people, and all are real options.
