Unfortunately, our #DNS provider #Transip does not allow #DNAME records, so the practical use for us (community at https://dewar.nl) is zero (unless we migrate to another provider that supports them, but maybe too much hassle there).
I contacted Transip about this and they were not planning on adding support, but maybe if more people ask about this?
So are you using Transip and would DNAME records be useful for you (for #DKIM) or otherwise, do send them a message about this!

Het ticket over de email is gesloten zonder terugkoppeling. Bij navraag krijg ik te horen, dat ze het intern hebben doorgezet en dus het ticket maar hebben gesloten, i.p.v. het ticket open te houden en te wachten op een antwoord van de andere afdeling.
Kort samengevat:
"Klant, zoek het maar uit, het boeit ons niet...!"10/n

Gisteren is hier nog een nieuw probleem bij gekomen, omdat een klant niet kan mailen vanaf haar website. Het betreft een subdomein met een academie. Op het hoofddomein (zelfde pakket) is er geen probleem.
"Dat is niet mogelijk op subdomeinen/subsites"
Waarom is dat? En waarom is dat niet gedocumenteerd?
"We zullen uw wens noteren en kijken of het geïmplementeerd kan worden."
Nee, gewoon die blokkade eraf halen!
Eerste verhuizing weg van #TransIP wordt inmiddels gepland.

Het is al bijna 4 weken geleden, dat het probleem ontstond. Nog steeds wordt gewacht op het uitzoekwerk door de beheerders. Nog niets zinnigs is teruggekoppeld. Tickets worden gesloten, omdat ik niet reageer (terwijl ik wacht op #TransIP). Heropenen is niet mogelijk, want het ticket is gesloten. Dus moet je je in allerlei bochten wringen om een nieuw ticket aan te maken, zonder teveel naar de vorige te verwijzen, omdat het dan als gerelateerd wordt herkend en automatisch afgewezen.

Inmiddels met iemand een eindeloze discussie gehad, dat de geblokkeerde IP adressen toch zouden horen bij de servers van hun eigen klanten, die voor inkomend en uitgaand verkeer blijkbaar andere subnets gebruiken. Maar niemand die dan kon zeggen bij welke servers ze horen en wat daar dan op gebeurde.
Een "Wordpress virus" (2 aanwijzingen, dat de medewerker niets van WP weet) zou rond gaan en dit veroorzaken, maar dan nog is het vreemd, dat alleen #TransIP sites daar voor misbruikt worden.

Wat heeft #TransIP Abuse een beroerd ticket systeem zeg!
Ik deed melding van aanvallen afkomstig vanaf het TransIP netwerk. Eerst bij de normale helpdesk gemeld, maar die verwezen me door. Bij Abuse kreeg ik te horen, dat het geen IP adressen van TransIP waren (dat waren het duidelijk wel). Vervolgens hoor ik 4 dagen niks en krijg ik vanmorgen een enquête, waaronder nog net te lezen is, dat er maatregelen zijn getroffen.
Het is echter nog niet afgehandeld, dus ik reageer er op.

I've got a #Wordpress blog and domain auto installed via #TransIP NL. I've not put much in this blog, and don't want to support WP in the current climate. Its on "shared hosting".
Anyone got suggestions for a better CMS, preferably one that works "out of the box" with the shared hosting? How do I nuke the Wordpress install without cancelling the whole hosting package and reordering it?

Al jaren host ik een #VPS bij #TransIP en tegelijk ben ik vrij slordig met m'n financiën.
Nu zie ik een afschrijving voorbij komen voor die VPS, en ik schrik me de tandjes. En dan blijk ik ook nog te veel te betalen voor #domeinregistraties, waar ik er inmiddels behoorlijk van van heb.
Het wordt hoog tijd om deze machine zo snel mogelijk ergens anders opnieuw op te bouwen.
Zelfs een flinke machine thuis neerzetten zou inclusief afschrijving en stroomverbruik goedkoper zijn...

I moved all but one of my .nl domains from #TransIP to #Vimexx, which saves me 50% on the yearly subscription fee.
Also, TransIP is horribly opaque when you try to find out the regular subscription fee (it's €11,99/y). The last couple of years there's been a consistent pattern of price hikes (.nl domain registration costs went from €7,99/y to €11,99/y in two years) and just a general "let's see how far we can milk this” attitude.

After trying to debug the network issue for hours, breaking my head over why even a reboot did not help like it did before, I figured I should go to bed and look again later. But just one more reboot couldn't hurt much at this point -- and the network was back up 🤯
So I still don't know if there is an issue in my config or if #TransIP employs a chaos monkey. 🤔 -

Oh FFS! The VPS that runs a lot of my services, including #Hubzilla, was out of memory. So even though #TransIP charges me an arm and a leg for 2GB RAM, I felt I had no choice.
Only 5 minutes after the upgrade, those 2 extra GBs have already been eaten up completely :-/
And now I think #MariaDB could do with 2 extra CPUs too. And of course disk space. You never have enough disk space... -
@floppy @ScottMortimer @bill @whiskeyputers Thanks for the tip on #Porkbun turning evil. I was planning to use them soon but I guess I’ll have to look closer at #TransIP & njal.la instead. If those don’t pan out it’ll turn into a research project at that point. Perhaps the way forward would be to harvest the db of ICANN-accredited services & do a #Cloudflare check on each, then look for those with gratis whois privacy.

Some non-CF options are: #TransIP, #porkbun & njal.la. Exceptionally, some of the CFd ones I mentioned only use CF DNS, thus they can spontaneously switch CF on at any time (e.g. during peak usage).
