for #TransgenderAwarenessWeek, I'd like to update y'all on my thoughts about my gender. as previously discussed, I am #nonbinary, and I do not identify as masc or fem. while I sorta politically identify as agender, I recently realized that that's not the whole story for me

I really like #maverique, which has been defined as: "a gender that is entirely independent of male/masculinity, female/femininity or anything which derives from the two while still being neither without gender nor of a neutral gender". Vesper H./queerascat coined the term "maverique" in 2014 to describe their own gender. The word comes from "maverick" and the French suffix "-ique," and can be used as a noun ("some maveriques") or an adjective ("some maverique people")

it can be pronounced as /mavˈrēk/ (“mav-REEK”) or /mav(ə)ˈrēk/ (“mav-uh-REEK”); I prefer the first pronunciation

my pronouns haven't changed; I still prefer they/them or fae/faer pronouns
