  9. CW: Asking for HRT DIY dosing advice, with lack of hormone level testing

    HRT DOSAGES QUESTIONS:

Read the whole post before answering please!

What were your dosages when you were in the first 2-3 months of your HRT?

What were you taking, what kinds, and how were they administered?

If injected, where did you inject? Subcutaneous, intramuscular, or other?

Did you DIY, doctor, or other? Who told you how much to dose?

Did you need to make adjustments?

Was it a safe dose? There's all sorts of different opinions on what's safe levels or not.

    Any other info or advice?

    .....

    WHAT I'VE DONE:

If I can't yet get around to hormone level testing, I can at least make a more informed guesstimate of what a safe dose is, for my own health.

I do not have hormone levels from before starting e. I tried, but should have tried earlier and harder.

I'm specifically going from 2 months on monotherapy EV injections only, to EV + spiro pills.

I've been logging exactly when & how much I've taken, & where I injected. I have been taking more than recommended, sometimes way more. I've gone back down to closer to recommended levels, but still higher than recommended.

I've seen one hormone level simulator online, but it was merely a simple "x dose every y days", no room for custom varying doses and days. There's probably some out there, that are more suited to what I'm looking for.

    .....

    Thanks in advance!

  10. Nerd detective time, please:
"Set in a cafe, there's this couple in middle school between a guy and an enby called Mogu (Mogumi? Maybe?) with white hair and short low pigtails, usually. I think a bear hair clip as well? Cute af tiny backpack!

People ask a few times if Mogumo (?) is a trans girl.
They keep saying "no, I'm not a boy nor a girl. I'm just a person. I'm me, something else" or along those lines.

Somehow, they get work in a cafe with other GNC and queer people. (I think maybe a lesbian schoolfriend had a crush on them, thinking they were a girl, but I feel like that may have been a different story.)
One was a gay guy who just liked dressing like a chick sometimes. Another was a trans chick. I can't remember but again, maybe a sapphic somewhere? "

(Unrelated: does anyone know of a good corollary for sapphic? Like, the gayest of historical dudes, so gay he embodies the idea of MLM but as an adjective.)

Got it! "Mogumo (百雲 龍之助 Mogumo Ryuunosuke) is the protagonist of Fukakai na Boku no Subete o. Mogumo is a first-year in high school who was assigned male at birth but identifies as non-binary or X-gender. They wish for friends that would truly understand them. They eventually develop a romantic relationship with Tetsu Iwaoka." fukaboku.fandom.com/wiki/Mogumo

  11. I have a serious question for the #transfem #transfeminine #transfemme communities; as a boy wearing dresses (I am transmasc, male-appearing on T post top-surgery, my gender identity is queer and boy depending on the time of day or what way the wind is blowing) as now that my masculinity doesn't feel threatened every day (not quite the words I want there; I don't know how to explain it other than that there's a huge metaphorical and physical weight off my chest now, and it unlocked doors that I had chained and barred shut for so long) I feel much freer to enjoy the feminine side of me that I truly neglected pre-transition.

I wear both dresses and skirts, especially ones that were mine pre-transition,. to paraphrase Suzy Izzard, it's just me wearing a dress, not cross-dressing or anything, just expressing myself in ways I never felt comfortable to as a girl.

there's some pictures of me hanging out around this account under the tag #SelfieADay, including a recent one of me wearing a dress. I'm 5'5", what's trying to grow into a full beard but mostly is on the sides and under my chin at least an inch and a half full length, about an inch practical length because it's curly. visible chest hair, back hair, leg hair etc that I have no interest in removing, and my hair is buzzed but it's always covered for religious reasons and some leftover modesty practise from pre-transition.

I'd like to hear anything someone (trans, fem inclined in whatever way, not interested in hearing from other trans masc folk except if someone also dresses in gender-transgessive fashion and has experience doing so outside of drag circumstances or whatever; local #blorbo folks also welcome to chime in regardless of identity/identification) feels is important to say so that I can make sure I'm respectful to y'all's communities etc. I never want anything I do to negatively impact other trans people, and I very much try to educate people when I have spoons that anyone can wear a dress, etc.

I am also fortunate enough to be in Los Angeles, and while I'm not in the heart of gay territory down here, I am also not out in 47-supporter land; and most comments I get are supportive (where I thank them and them gently inform them that I'm male and this is for comfort and fun) or compliments.

I bought what's probably going to be my primary summer sundress today (in three colours all the exact same dress because I am That Kind of autistic lmao). it has pockets, not quite enough for my phone but my vape can go in there and such. and it's super comfortable and therefore the same sort of same clothes I do with men's clothing.

so yeah. open forum, be nice, if you're rude I'm going to show you the door. I know I'm friends with a lot of transfem folks, I am mostly interested in their opinions over strangers'.

haha oops almost hit the character count over here.

  12. as a small introduction,
i am oda, full name odarka, use it/its or feminine words to refer to me and describe me as object, thing, machine, device, piece.
something along the lines of "robot girl" will do, but i do appreciate more original and diverse ways to describe and compliment my nonhumanity and femininity.
i am also transmisogyny affected and transfeminist
i never kinkshame, don't have a dni and always have open dm's

  13. CW: Tamsin's pinned post on anarres.family, my new home instance.

Hello, anarres.family, all other servers, and all ships at sea!

Welcome to Tamsin's Pinned Post, which includes a few things you might want to know about me.

Yes, this is a new instance, which I intend to be my new home on the fediverse... but it's the same old nonsense.

Please enjoy your stay, unless you're a fascist, a racist, a transphobe, a homophobe, or any other flavor of garbage person, in which case please fix your heart or die. Your choice.

So, who the heck am I?

Hi! I'm Tamsin: a white #GenX #queer #sapphic #nonbinary #trans #woman who likes doorstopper novels, director's cuts of movies, extended remixes of songs and albums, tabletop roleplaying games, 5-string basses, double-cutaway Les Paul Jr. guitars, beaches, forests, mountains, witchy things, late nights, lazy afternoons, writing down half of everything she thinks, and living places that haven't outlawed her.

I'm happily monogamously married to a polymath superhero, and we share our lives with my marvelous teenaged offspring, two adorable cats, and a host of delightful friends and co-conspirators.

    Things I post about, in no particular order: #gender, #sexuality, #queerness, #QueerTheory, #transgender stuff, #transfeminine stuff, #magic, #witchcraft, #music, #books, #movies, #TTRPGs, #ADHD, #politics, #philosophy, #spirituality, making things, and whatever else is going though my brain at any given moment.

When I talk about gender and sexuality, it's probably helpful to know that I hold a bachelor's degree in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies (with a focus on #feminist history, queer theory, and trans studies) from the University of Washington. This doesn't make me "right" or "authoritative," but it does mean I've done some reading on the topics. Sometimes I joke that I had to get a degree to realize I'm a gay trans girl... which isn't quite true, but still makes me laugh.

    I'm exactly the kind of person who likes #ProgRock, #PunkRock, #PostPunk, #TripHop, #GirlyPop, #DarkFolk, #BlackMetal, '70s #funk, old-school #RnB, #BritishInvasion, #ArtRock, #AcidRock, #AcidFolk, anti-fascist #NeoFolk, #SingerSongwriter, #blues, #EarlyMusic, #minimalist composers, anime soundtracks, and everything #Prince ever recorded. Among other things.

Sometimes I make things. I craft, I cook, I play (and occasionally run) tabletop role-playing games, I play (and occasionally write) music and songs. Most of all, though, I write: essays, poetry, stories, and—this one time at band camp, when I was feeling particularly sassy—a whole-ass book about gender, sexuality, queerness, and magic for witches, Pagans, occultists, and devotional polytheists. (If you want to check it out, there's a link in my bio to the publisher's page.)

Politically, I started out as a liberal in the 1980s, but—flying in the face of conventional wisdom—became increasingly leftist as time went by. I believe all life is sacred, hegemony and hierarchy are intrinsically inclined towards abuse, and bodily autonomy is fundamental to human rights. I believe people can own and control things, but that people are not things. As such, I believe fascism, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, queerphobia, and ableism are all evils of the human heart. I support #UniversalHealthcare, #UBI, BLM, #antifa, indigenous rights, #TransRights, queer resistance, sex workers, undocumented and migrant rights, disability rights, autistic people, plural folks, defunding the police, and radical inclusivity. Whatever name fits those beliefs, that's what I am. I'm not a wholly uncritical leftist, though, and I'm probably not ideologically pure enough for most movements. (Then again, I'm a futch-y trans #lesbian, so many leftist movements don't want me around anyway.)

About following: I'm trying to be intentional and judicious in how I use social media, so here's the deal: folks are welcome to follow my account here, but I don't automatically follow people back. That's not a judgement on you, please understand. It's an acknowledgement that I have a limited amount of mental and social bandwidth, and it's easy for me to get overwhelmed by my social media feed if I don't tend it aggressively.

The odds of me following you back are significantly higher if...
    • you have a bio I find interesting,
    • you're somewhere under the rainbow (LGBTQIA2S+),
    • we share interests in common,
    AND/OR
    • you interact with my posts in a positive way often enough that I think, "hey, I like so-and-so, I think I'll send them a follow request."

The last condition might override any of the previous three, but the previous three do sway things, just saying. Regardless, anyone's welcome to follow my posts here.

Okay, I think that's about enough for now. Further updates as events warrant, or as I think of them.

    Cheers! 💕

  14. Today we talk about what Labour have done to Trans right since being in power for the last few months
Tories might shout about it, and conservative types are blaming pregnancy deaths on trans people in the Telegraph.
But Labour are the evil ones enacting this on the sly

    Labour transphobia enacted but not included in its manifesto;

    - Puberty blocker ban,
    - Transphobic prosecution guidelines,
    - Asking transphobes to produce NHS exclusion guidelines
    - Misleading, dishonest & dangerous child safeguarding “guidance”
    - Forced outing of trans kids by schools to parents
    - Exclusion of trans people from Levy “inquiry”
    - Revision of Equality Act guidance
    - Reappointed Falkner to the transphobic EHRC
    - Updated, deeply dangerous transphobic prison housing 'guidelines'
    - Changed the CPS guidance to be able to catch trans people dating skywriter.blue/.../jessothomso

This is why we have a 4 year plan, because we are being targeted relentlessly under the radar.

  15. CW: Transfem HRT questions about progesterone

Wanting to know if anyone is willing to tell me about their experience with progesterone. How long have you been on prog? What is your dosage? Do you take it orally or do you boof it? Or if you have taken prog both ways what differences have you noticed between side effects? What kind of positive and/or negative effects would you attribute to progesterone? Does cycling your progesterone intake (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off) actually have positive effects or is that just reddit nonsense?

I was on it for 4 months but stopped taking it because I feared that I may have started it too soon, and I was also worried that it may have been negatively impacting my mental health. In hindsight I'm not sure if either of those were true, so I'm contemplating starting prog again soon. I was taking 100mg nightly by boofing it, and honestly I'm not sure that I noticed any changes (other than the potential worsening mental health) so maybe I should try orally this go around? I'd love to hear about your experiences and insight.

  16. Today is Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV), whether you are out or not, know you are loved and valid
Each year on March 31, the world observes (TDOV) to raise awareness about transgender people. It is a day to celebrate the lives and contributions of trans people, while also drawing attention to the poverty, discrimination, and violence the community faces.
