I am surprised that Team R and its authoritarians do not support #SinglePayer (Medicare for all) models. With a centralized bureaucracy to control all healthcare, they could block anything they disapprove with impunity: #abortion, #transcare, etc.
Imagine requiring a government signoff to see doctors and hospitals, even in emergencies. Why insurance companies to dictate coverage through pre-authorizations when a regime in power can serve the same purpose with disastrous efficiency.

just had to fire my psychiatrist before we even really got started.
found out he misgendered me during a call with my psychologist. when she corrected him, he didn't apologize. he got defensive and said he "never talked about pronouns" with me, like that somehow makes it ok?? also, I clearly stated to him during our first appointment that I am a trans woman, and have gender dysphoria.
that's not a miscommunication. thats a provider who isn't safe for trans patients. and im not gonna spend my limited energy educating someone who should already know better.
finding affirming mental healthcare is hard enough. we shouldn't also have to fight just to be seen correctly by the people that are supposed to help us.

Oh, yeah. I had a primary care physician appointment yesterday. I went to the doctor with (some) of my pins on.
I educated him.
My doctor commented on my pins. I explained what they were. He asked about polyamory.
I mentioned my boyfriend and a date that I have this weekend with someone else. I said that I told my boyfriend about the date. His reply was "Oh, to seek permission?" I said that it wasn't to seek permission, but to inform him. We don't hide new potential romantic relationships. I said if my boyfriend had objected we would have had a serious discussion, because, for one thing, my boyfriend has another boyfriend. :madjoy:
I also clued him in to the fact that Whitman-Walker in DC gives free STI testing, and that the same facility has good trans care. I actually learned yesterday that my boyfriend uses them. I thought he had passed on their services, but he did not.

I have a bit of question for beings out there: I've recently moved to #Zurich and would like to meet queer people to hang out with and find cool places to hang out at (haunts, makerspaces, etc.)
additionally I'm looking for info about #transcare (friendly endo and gp, hairdressers, piercers, tattooers, etc.)
if anyone has anything, I'm all ears ^^
(right now I kind of feel like a very small girl in a very new city, weirdly enough) -

The transphobic gatekeeping here is absolutely horrific. I'm lucky that I can afford services from outside the country, allowed through EU law. #trans

CW: Medical reactions, injections, hormone therapy (need advice and support from trans people)
I seem to have suddenly developed an allergic reaction to my estradiol valerate injections after I contracted COVID a few months ago. Now my injection sites are itchy for days and develop lumps that last for weeks. I switched from intramuscular to subcutaneous and the reaction is still happening the same way in the fatty tissue. My doctor has no idea what's wrong or whether it's safe to continue administering the injections. Has anyone else had an experience like this?? #transcare #trans #hormonetherapy

CW: Transgender, HRT mini-rant (Observation)
HRT to us is Antidepressants are to people who are depressed. And yet depressed people don't have to jump through so many hoops when getting their meds... I never understand why the governments of the world have decided it is their job to decide whether or not we get the medicine we need to keep living, and to stay sane. (I am on HRT, but I am mainly making an observation.)
I think the governments of the world need to stay the fuck out of our undergarments, and the fuck out of our doctor's jobs. They don't regulate a heart surgery as much as they regulate GRS, they don't regulate antidepressants as much as they regulate HRT. It is wholely nonsensical for them to regulate any medicine as much as they regulate HRT and GRS.
