What does "social media" actually mean? I think it's more about "two-way media" rather than socialisation, such as making friends and so on. The media is two-way: the original poster and reactions plus comments. I don't think it's about socialisation because it's hard to make genuine friends on social media. I think, in the online world, it's more about transactions.

Perhaps, on this issue, Australia ought to be #transactional (as is the US administration) and non-partisan in Defence acquisitions. I doubt that China would sell us SSNs but there are other markets without restrictive ‘allies ties’, more reliable and at cheaper prices. This runs counter to the very conservative outlook of Defence though, so don’t hold your breath.Note the links to the article is ‘paywalled’ so did not read (requiring any kind of signing-in is tantamount to paywalling). I’m not having it. I also note that the author is known for letting his bias show and I don’t always agree with his opinion.

Can we stop seeing #MutualAid as #transactional please? #Reciprocal yes, transactional no. And we must allow that #reciprocity isn't always direct. Otherwise, are we not simply uplifting #capitalist paradigms of #hierarchical value?
I keep seeing trends wherein those in pain, grieving or ill get dropped.
I know that I haven't uplifted as much, while ill and grieving and in many ways never have enough, but my loved ones are in danger and they need uplifted. Please!!
