Ich war froh das ich einen #Trangia #Spirituskocher hatte.

Diesen konnte ich wenigstens im Haus nutzen.

Vergesse nicht das Wasser der Heizung abzulassen wenn die Rohre an der Aussenwand sind.

Das spart teure Reparaturkosten.

Serendipity - a frying pan bought a couple of years ago at a local shop as it was the only one of that size that they had in stock fits perfectly on a Trangia 27 bought two decades ago.

I made a fry up on it during a power cut earlier this morning. Our back up systems all worked as expected. Now I need to get a battery back up system to be able to run our fresh water pump during power cuts.

The vegetables in the pan are home grown.

If you have one of these $5-$9 #folding #sternoStoves and you are having trouble getting the smaller #sterno cans to fit, you can use a wide-mouth canning lid. I like to point the rubber-gasket-side down so it grips the stove better and creates a little indent to keep the sterno in place better. Also, your #trangia #alcohol stove can go there. Add a platform and you might be able to use #esbit #solidFuel (#hexamine)

One memorable time when the wind was nearly lifting us off our feet, I heroically found a tiny bit of shelter and cooked a meal of boiled potatoes & fried salmon for our family of four. On racing back to the wildly flapping tent, eldest lad said "don't want salmon". He survived, but it was close 😉

Home from a brief jaunt out into the wilds, with a cup of tea and a snack to test out a tiny alcohol hiking stove.

I really liked my kludged #Trangia safety valve and am so chuffed that it fits perfectly onto MSR fuel bottles.

Saw a ton of red-winged-blackbirds, and handful of bird watchers about. It was quiet on the greenbelt's #LimeKiln trail, in spite of a busy parking lot. Very pleasant indeed.
