The cabin is just a narrow bed, but it has a bit of extra headroom at the end where there's also a private window. Private fresh air as well, which is very welcome for anyone who knows how smelly the old 4/6-bunks could get when fully occupied.
One neat feature is the moveable folding table combo: table when down, mirror on the underside. Will test now how well this works with a laptop soon. There is a (working) power outlet as well, so at least my gadgets should stay powered.

... And we're going! First impression: the new #nightjet sleeper cabins are super nice - definitely compared to the old ones, but also by their own standard. It's like a capsule hotel on rails.
There are four cabins to a bay, stacked in two layers of 2 cabins each. The horizontal ones are separated by baggage lockers coupled to the cabin's card reader. This is really space-efficient while maintaining a decent illusion of privacy.

This evening I'll start my own #CrossBorderRail adventure. Fairly tame, I'll take a direct #nightjet sleeper train from Arnhem - München Ost. If all goes well, I should leave around dinnertime and be in Munich tomorrow morning (+ customary delay of ca. 2 hours or so).
First time I'll be sleeping in the new capsules, surely those will be a big improvement over the old 1960s-vintage bunk bed cabins.
