2026 so far…
So yeah, thorns. 2 weeks of sat on the sofa with my head torch on and a pair of tweezers pulling them out of my hands. Don't trip into thorn bushes yeah? What happened at the end of 2025 after Northern Ireland. uuuh.... a week or so of recovery, and then trying to get some pace back into my legs for the Percy Pud in December. Weekend #trailrun after a week of taking it easy and doing some painting on the house. Boy what a hot day today 🥵. Humidity is very high, bearing a promise of much needed rain (and some thunder) in the evening. After 11k there was some guy with a hammer waiting for me. I was so overheated that I took a little break and couldn't really get going again. So it came down to run-walk-run on the way back. But it was fun anyway.

Finished the #Skyline50k #trailRace in 9:34:51 yesterday! My 3rd best 50k, and first 50k in over two years since the Marin Ultra Challenge 50k in 2023.
It was quite the journey to get back here, and a lot went well in this race. From training to preparing and planning, the temperate cool weather for most of the day, and executing perhaps the best I have in a race.
For now, I am very happy with my performance in this #Skyline race, and want to express my thanks to Scena Performance (@scenaperformance.com @ScenaPerform) for putting on such a welcoming, friendly, and supportive event.

Recovery day, no #running today!
All because I'll be running a 25km/800m elev. gain HM at the #Innsbruck Alpine #TrailRun Festival on Sat. Last year I ran the same event and that wasn't so good because the weather was very hot and I started off too fast, and by the end the hammer was about to knock me down.
But this year it should be better, or quite the opposite, as snow is expected to get close to the max elev of the course.

First brief 10km #trailrun at about 300m elevation gain with my brand new #Scarpa Ultra Spin #running shoes and so far they feel extremely comfortable.
I haven't had much luck with my shoes in the past and so I really hope that they will stay with me for a while, without causing any pain or injuries.
Apart from that perfect running weather at about 18°C. Loved it 😎
