The Animal Abuser lobby is strong in the UK, despite the majority being against tormenting wildlife for pleasure.
I expect the Government will fold as they always do with the Landed Gentry. They'd watch us starve to death for a cause, but inconvenience the Feudal Lords and there will be hell to pay .

Residents, animal sanctuaries, businesses & even funerals have been disturbed by hounds tearing through their land & pets have been killed by these hunts
When communities try to protest they face intimidation

Very pleased to see that the government is looking at banning trail hunting.
If there are legitimate devotees of the sport of trail hunting, then tough. They've had 20 years to clean up their act and stop it being used as a cover for illegal fox hunting.
They haven't. Whether that's because they can't or just don't want to, I don't know, but it's irrelevant anyway. Either way, trail hunting still leads to animal cruelty.
