Radio 3 mixtape just included 'Boney was a warrior' Malcolm Arnold's version
It reminded me that we used to sing it at school, one of the songs we learned late 50s, v early 60s thanks to BBC Schools Service 'Singing Together'.
An odd choice though... maybe
