Maxi Zamora: This mural reflects the days when boys and girls enjoyed the streets with simple games like hopscotch, and childhood was often experienced outside the home. Initially, I painted a boy flying a kite on these same stairs, then kids going down the hill in carts by the port, and now I wanted to capture the childhood of the girls who enjoyed the streets of Valparaíso. My idea has always been to showcase different traditional games from Chilean neighborhoods that shaped generations and gave childhood that magical charm that makes us want to relive it.

You ever try and get into a new game and then realise there are hundreds of versions and several variants within different versions of the game?
AND then just have no idea of which version of the game your playing and how the hell any of the points are being scored.
AND you just become overwhelmed bc you don't even fully know the base game to start off... I have decided to go with the MCR rules to play Mahjong. Are these popular rules? IDK

Rubber band and hands. ^_^
You bring your hands together and position it so there is a very small outlet of air to the front when you hit your hands to the ground. The air channel you produce should make the rubber band jump forward.
The basic rule is whoever gets to the target “finish line” first.
What the rewards or punishments are depends on the players.
However, back in the 80s, a monetary value was added to the rubber bands.
The thin, rainbow coloured rubber bands are the cheapest.
Then it goes up from there.
1. Yellow
2. Green
3. Blue
4. Red
5. Orange
6. Violet
7. Gold - the highest valued rubber band. It is also the most expensive to buy. And it is thick and heavy.You can trade, for example ( I no longer remember the actual exchange rate) 10 Greens to get a 1 Blue rubber band.
However, you will rarely find anyone trading the rainbow coloured rubber bands for anything.
Oh, the trade exchange rate has nothing to do with how much the rubber bands actually cost in Philippine Peso. Haha. I have no idea how it worked, it just is.
And that's how new rules and rewards were added.
For example, in our games (and usually where I was the challenger):
* Whoever can get 4 Reds to the “finish line” will get 1 Gold band from each player who joined.
* Whoever can get an Orange band to fly this high (more below), will get 2 Gold bands, or equivalent, from each player.Re: fly this high. Another kid will put their legs on top of each other, and in harder challenges, we also add our arms.
And yep, it is doable.
* Another rule, who can make a {colour_here} band jump the farthest.

Go read OSRIC, which -while it omits a few things and tweaks others for legal reasons- does a good job of explaining 1e in plain English. The main thematic difference from WOTC D&D is that what will diferentiate 2 characters will tend to be their gear, rather than their racial class abilities or feats. It's a game about what you've got and how you use it more so than who your character inherently is. Con, Dex, and Cha are probably the most important stats for survival.
It's probably my favorite edition, even if 2e (esp the soulful blue printings) has better presentation and readability. @Sabex -

I've been wanting to get physical dice for a while now and just was putting it off anyways.
The only problem is I have absolutely 0 idea where to buy quality balanced dice that don't require weird shit like heating them up in the oven. Can I get some recommendations? Pic probably very unrelated. -

I don't think it has anything to do with like or dislike, one of the ways you could take a cow-person female is to give them quads to parallel cows having 4 teats. Just a way to make them less human and more beast-like. -

I love him, but he actually makes it impossible for anyone to be in the same room. I am uncertain if this is some kind of biological issue, or if this nigga eating a whole 6 cans of beans with egg before every session. Ia it across the line to kick a dude for farts? We all fart.
