  1. One hundred years ago today, millions of British workers walked off the job in a general strike

It’s difficult to imagine, in our age of labor quiescence, the impact of the great British general strike, which began 100 years ago today and reached every city and town in Britain

  6. @liamdv4 I'll agree there was a lot of toxicity in the union movement in the 1970s. In my first job, you had to be a member of the union to get the job, and you were fined if you didn't attend union meetings. But as the only place the time and place of the next meeting was publicised was at the preceding meeting, if you weren't in the clique you couldn't find out where the meetings were going to be so you couldn't attend.

I *still* think #TradesUnion are a good thing, though!

  7. I've been warned that when others view my #BirdSite feed they see #UnionBashing #PromotedTweets. This is clearly not coincidental. This is precisely the sort of manipulation we should expect to see with M*sk & his far right cabal running the show. Our fight back starts here. I have created a group #JoinAUnion to propagate messages to #TradesUnion activists & supporters. Follow @joinaunion to opt in.
