  1. "Le monde est la totalité des faits, non des choses."

"Les frontières de mon langage sont les frontières de mon monde."

"La mort n’est pas un événement de la vie. On ne vit pas la mort. Si l’on entend par éternité non pas la durée infinie mais l’intemporalité, alors il a la vie éternelle celui qui vit dans le présent."

  5. Somebody put the (english version) of Wittgensteins Tractatus into a structured form; I mean, it's a tree, no?, and you can read it here:

  6. Do people in Data Science tend to understand what the halting problem is actually about?

Do people tend to understand what Gödel Incompleteness is actually about?

Do people tend to understand that Wittgenstein's early efforts into a formal system of language (Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus) was an utter failure, to the extent that Wittgenstein became sure (because of how badly it failed) that language isn't a formal system at all, just some sort of arcane racket ball...?

  8. It occurred to me, while reading this, that #Horkheimer & #Adorno's #Dialectic of #Enlightenment might be of a piece with #Wittgenstein's #Tractatus; a set of basically senseless propositions the purpose of which is to make you see their senselessness (TLP 6.54). So, with #Habermas one might then say that H&A do commit a performative contradiction. But that's precisely the point!
