A rare trip into #Philly yesterday, and I was thrilled to spot two new #HouseOfHades #ToynbeeTiles right near City Hall. These symbols or messages embedded in asphalt streets fascinate me as an art form.

Found this tile near South Station in #Boston purely by chance after our flight was cancelled and we had to run to catch a train instead (at least we were able to work something out to get home). Anyway…it’s the only tile I know of in Boston, but I’m not sure if that’s because I don’t have enough eyes in Boston or there just really aren’t any others up there.

SIX NEW TILES REPORTED IN CINCINNATI!!This is the first time in nearly a decade that authentic House of Hades have been reported so far west. Just last year we heard of tiles in Pittsburgh, so to hear Cincinnati already is shocking. These were also (almost) definitely left by HoH himself, instead of a collaborator. One can only wonder how far west HoH will go…

WOW!! These two today bring us up to 5 new #ToynbeeTiles in #Philly specifically, for a grand total of 14 in 2023 so far (9 we’re reported in #syracuseny last week). These are located on busy thoroughfares so I didn’t have time to frame a good shot but the scale of these is really something else, verging on mega-tile…

New #ToynbeeTiles have landed in #Philadelphia !!!! I found these three with a friend while out scouting in #CenterCity
The amount of tar shrouding that remains on the face of the tiles indicates that these have only been deployed for a matter of weeks, maybe up to a month. They’re on a street subject to high traffic and significant amounts of direct sunlight so I would expect the tar to melt off very quickly relative to lower traffic and more shaded areas. We’ll keep an eye on these

This is an example of a brand new kind of tile that was reported to us this summer! This doesn’t really fit the style of the Original, #HouseofHadesTile , or #stikman so I’ve dubbed the creator “Company Man,” which is carved into the pink man on the left. He has another tile reported in South Philly somewhere, but I haven’t been able to find it and it may have been paved. Tile text in alt text.

This tile is a prime example of what I call “laddering”. It’s those rectangular series of windows cut into the other tile features.
