For my birthday today… I deleted the Facebook account I created in September to access Marketplace. It served its purpose. I was going to sell other things but never got around to it. Then friends started requesting to be friends. It was awkward. I didn’t accept any requests and even made one post on my profile that I wouldn’t be friending anyone.. that it was only for Marketplace. People still requested…

Then a colleague/friend passed away and I missed an RSVP because someone sent me the message on FB rather than real life even though we weren’t FB connected and hadn’t communicated on there for years. This is what happens when people treat FB like the entirety of “the internet” and “communication”. I have a website with my name and phone! My address is not hard to search. Email!?

I was angry and sad about that. 😢

So ya… if I do the Marketplace thing again I’ll just make a temp account and delete it after use, like a single use plastic bag to pick up dog poop. 💩 🤣

In the meantime I’ll keep focusing on good people here on the #opensocialweb… and also connecting with people in real life.

Most of the 48 years I have spent on this earth have been without Facebook. I’ll manage :)

Toxic Cowards who Poison Social Media – (Mike Jay amicite)

… in particular Bluesky now as well.

Twitter / X has an exodus over to Bluesky and so far Bluesky has been refreshing. But it was of course a question of time before the cowardly toxicity floods over to Bluesky.

I usually don’t give aggressive cowards like this space on my blog, and he might say that he’s “honoured” to get all the attention.

Yes, here it is, for all to see what an aggressive, toxic coward this guy is.

For any new reader to my blog, I write about Pret, work with the press (see media links at the very bottom) after having declined Pret’s “hush money” for silence.

Apart from exposing who Pret really are including the execs and the very heart of Pret, it helps me distract myself from having lost my family in short years, starting with my brother.

Small, little social media posts that I found have turned into BBC or other press article. Don’t ever think you have no voice or that your voice doesn’t count. Ignore the gaslighters who try to tell you all kinds of bullsh!t.

On Bluesky a guy named Mike Jay mentioned that he got a free coffee from Pret. Another user asked how, he said that the staff member who gave him the freebie said she saw the Google Maps review that he left.

I usually link people to articles where I explain WHY some customers get DAILY freebies and other customers don’t get a freebie in years (or never!), and that it is highly discriminatory. As a team leader I had to at times tell a colleague to stop giving freebies to the same person who then once a week brought a celebrity gossip magazine for free to my colleague. This exchange of transaction as in free coffee for good review or a free magazine can get the staff member fired if Pret finds out.

I made some enquiries and asked Mike Jay if that’s why he left the review, and as scared cowards do, he first started a long explanation, then quickly blocked me and then via his 2. account started to throw insults at me before blocking me there as well.

I only managed to screenshot a few of the insults, everything else is hidden now.

He did that to avoid all the other people in the initial feed reading what he did and pretended that he just does random reviews.

But the staff member gave away that she 1. knows him and 2. read his review. Staff members usually don’t read Google reviews. They’re too busy and exhausted for that UNLESS they ASK for reviews! But what staff, especially managers and team leaders do read, is the INTERNAL feedback customers send to Pret and Pret then fear managing staff with negative feedback.

I recently interviewed a former Pret staff from the newly opened India shops who suffered severe bullying and got permanently injured. He explained in the interview that his managers, including the big cheese district manager asked the staff to BUY food from their own Pret store via delivery and then leave reviews on Zomato.com, which only can be reviewed in India.

This particular shop has many bad reviews, so the managers coerce the staff to leave positive reviews including naming the abusive assistant manager as a great guy.

The Ex Pret staff did a great thing to secretly record the harassment of the assistant manager and made the Pret India execs nervous with publishing this.

But back to Mike Jay. When I asked some simple questions he gave long explanation in a nervous way, then blocked me, went to his other Bluesky account and started to hurl insults at me and then also blocked.

On my first enquiry which is hidden as he blocked and hid posts, he tried to explain/justify his review and then after checking my profile mentioned my posts as “shit” to which I responded that I’m not concerned on what he thinks. He then blocked me to which I responded “Yep, …” and then he started the insults via his other account.

Unlike on Twitter / X, even when someone blocks you or you block someone, all the interactions are still visible in the feeds unless it’s shadow banned. But on Bluesky it seems like when you are blocked or block someone, the interactions either also disappear OR the coward who doesn’t want his friends to see them is hiding them.

This guy presents himself as a meek person just posting unimportant stuff, and then when challenged throws a fit like a little boy who got drenched in the rain.

So, to the toxic coward Mike Jay, here’s some FREE advertising and attention for you.

Anyone who throws insults, unprovoked, who can’t have a discussion or even debate, and then runs away will be met with the same measure.

Also typical for a coward who throws insults is they bombard you with texts, then say “we’re done”, but keep texting and then block, so you can’t respond. Classical coward by the book, who got caught out leaving reviews for freebies which can get the staff member fired.

Pret have a budget for each shop to MANDATORILY give freebies. If a staff gives a freebie to the mystery shopper, she/he can get the £100 reward. They MUST give freebies.

But if a staff is caught giving freebies in exchange for favours, like a positive Google review, weekly celeb gossip magazine etc. she/he can get fired.

You can always tell when someone got “caught” doing bullsh!t by how aggressively they respond and then tuck in their tail and run off.

So, after a while on Bluesky with a peaceful time, the toxicity has arrived there now as well. I knew this would happen once people “emigrate” from Twitter / X. Bluesky’s “tranquillity” was good while it last. Let’s keep going and keep speaking out, keep calling out aggression, keep speaking out on whatever your subject, activism, passion, hobby etc. is about. And don’t let anyone sh!t on you with their toxic cowardliness.

I blocked Mike Jay now as well, so that in the future he can’t sneak up and continue. He can speak out independently, but knowing how cowards are, he will rally people against me. That’s what cowards do.

I don’t give a flying fnck.

To all Pret customers, always check your food from Pret, especially now during the Christmas period where staff stretch the expiry dates even more than usual before the holiday closures as many products are expiring soon and the factories try to get rid of their stock as well.

And Pret staff, join a union!
