Choosing to involve yourself in someone’s life out of the insecurity of isolation and the fear of being alone is a recipe for disaster. The truth is, we have the power to choose who we want in our circle. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but sometimes, you need to rip the bandaid off and find better friends.
Yes, it’s harsh. I understand. But I’m willing to take your bullets for this truth.
I had to tear away from a toxic marriage that was leading me down a path of suicide and self-hate. The pain was immense, but necessary. Coming out of the closet, embracing my authentic self, and refusing to take any more shit has made enemies, no doubt. But more importantly, it has brought out the best in the people I know I can trust.
Don’t let fear chain you to unhealthy relationships. Embrace your true self, even if it means facing harsh realities and losing people along the way. True friends will stand by you, and your authentic life will attract those who genuinely care. Choose wisely, live authentically, and never settle for less than you deserve.
