I don't know why that trip to SuperCheap Auto had to be an argument.
I went in to buy replacement rubbers for my wipers, and said to the guy that I noticed online they offered to change them for $9, so I'd like that please.
The guy called someone else over to come out and look at the car, and I mentioned that the back window rubber would also need changing but that the replacement pack has enough in it to do all 3 blades. I mentioned that I knew this because I did it last time.
He argued with me. He insisted that he'd have to order in the part to change the back wiper. He mansplained that if he just changed the rubber it would leave a gap that would scratch the window because I have the factory default wipers on the car and they're not designed to have the rubber changed.
I explained to him that I didn't have the factory wipers on the car, that I had Tridon wipers because I changed them myself 4 years ago specifically so I could just replace the rubbers instead of throwing the entire wiper away every time they needed changing. And that, as I had already explained I have previously done this myself.
He started arguing again, insisting they were the factory wipers. I had enough said I'd do it myself, and the only reason I was asking for it to be done is because I thought that it would be LESS DRAMA for them to do it.. but apparently it's actually MORE drama because you're insisting on arguing about it with me?
Then he said "no, it's fine.. I'll do it for you." as though he was doing me a favour by changing them for me, and not performing a paid service for a customer.
I said no thanks, and he kept arguing that he would do it as he followed me into the store to buy the rubbers. He then tried to sell me the wrong product, and argued with me AGAIN when I told him it was wrong until I took the product off him and started to walk over to the register. He left to go back into the office, so I went back over to the shelf and grabbed the correct product.
My guy, I've been out of the house and wearing a bra for 4 hours now. Don't fucking push me.

Ich als schwuler Mann kenne mich mit männlichen Anmachversuchen aus, aber das hier? Das war wie ein Crashkurs in "Wie widerlich kann ich als Mann maximal sein".
Schwule Männer sind alles andere als heilig, klar. Auch im Gay-Dating gibt es Übergriffigkeit, Grenzüberschreitungen, Druck und toxisches Verhalten. Das ist kein Problem, das sich auf hetero Dating beschränkt. Aber in diesem Fall hat mich die Wucht und Selbstverständlichkeit der Übergriffigkeit nochmal auf eine andere Weise getroffen.
Ich bin froh, keine hetero Frau* zu sein. Ja, vielen ist bewusst, was Frauen* auf Dating-Apps abbekommen. Aber es zu sehen, ist dann doch nochmal ein anderes Level.
Wenn ich mir diese Nachrichten, Profile und "Charme"-Offensiven anschaue, verliere ich den letzten Funken Hoffnung in die Menschheit.
Oder zumindest in die ♂️ Hälfte davon. 🤯 🤮
Viele dieser Nachrichten sind nicht einfach "creepy" oder "unangenehm". Das ist pure verbale Gewalt gegenüber Frauen*.

So, TBH, I'm very aware of my own moments of #ToxicMasculinity in the past. And yes, truth be told, I'm AFAB who always considered myself to be "one of the boys" (but who was too lazy to go through HRT or surgery. I did try T, but it was too much of a good thing.) Anyhow, being AFAB, I might have gone a bit too far to prove my "dude-ness", because toxic masculinity is basically a pissing contest, run by hierarchy. Despite that, I knew that being a "real man" involved defending those weaker than oneself -- not preying on them. And that's the kind of man I aim to be!

A genuinely sad case - #driver clearly wasnt a "good lad", involved with #drugs and under influence when #driving - but I don't think he set out to #crash and kill the lass and badly injure his friend
A wider issue is social circle for young people outside big cities is affected by #CarDependency and #ToxicMasculinity (I suspect his friend and girlfriend admired him for owning the #BMW )
If he'd stopped he'd likely have walked free from Court and got only 3 years ban as no one would have got hurt, but as fun as #partydrugs can be, they can lead to irrational and impulsive behaviour (he's also likely to be on the comedown and sleep deprived which wouldn't have helped matters)

Even if you are terminally unwell, surely better to die at home rather than in #prison ?
He also had a long term partner, enough money to go betting, and had enjoyed 5 years after retirement before his illness which is more than a lot of other old men get..
Does make you wonder what else this man might have done in his youth, but didn't get nicked for (even if he supposedly led an honest life previously - you surely don't just /suddenly/ decide to go and rob a vulnerable person in later middle age)
