  1. In the heart of Richmond, the bustling #MarketSquare is framed by cobbled streets and surrounded by Georgian architecture, creating a quintessential #HistoricTown atmosphere. The prominent clock tower of the medieval Richmond Castle keeps watch over the #TownCentre, while the striking obelisk adds to its historic charm. Visitors often pause here to admire the #ClockTowerView before continuing along the #ScenicWalks that wind through the castle grounds and down to the River Swale. The square serves as both a hub for local life and a starting point for exploring the surrounding Yorkshire Dales.

  2. My town centre has got a new band stand, modern, but nice.

What surprised me, is it actually looks like the artist image.

  3. Following a police request for the Borough Council to consider a cycling ban in Nuneaton town centre, data has finally arrived on the number of cycling-related complaints and incidents that have been recorded here by Warwickshire Police.

  4. We went back to Silloth with the cameras and drones as we were a tad rushed on Friday.

Will get more shots up soon but here's one of the nicely detailed benches.

  5. There hasn’t been any grocers in this town of 28,000 people for 15 years. Now a group of locals wants to change that by opening a community-owned greengrocers.

Working with local growers and food producers, it will create a permanent outlet where people can buy local food. Veg will be loose and they’ll stock local and heritage varieties.

Chris Dobbs is one of the suppliers they've lined up: “Over the years we’ve lost the connection between our local farms and our local households, but Carrick Greengrocers is going to tie those back together and get fresh food from farms into people’s homes. Being so close, I can get vegetables off the farm and into the grocers in 10 minutes.”

The project is giving people a chance to become co-owners and raising funds to open the business by June with community shares. If successful, it would be the first community-owned business in Carrickfergus, and the first community-owned greengrocers in Northern Ireland.

  6. We do a fair bit of flying for search and rescue, now the obvious use is the thermal camera for finding missing people and animals.

But, sadly, the nature of our searching means we are often called in a week or two after the start of a case, when the funded resources are struggling.

In these cases the thermal is not a help, so I just thought I would post a couple of pictures showing how those of us flying drones who don't have a thermal rig can still be a huge benefit alongside ground search and water teams.

These shots are of the same section of water, the one taken at an angle is more like the view a ground team will see.

The top down shots show the huge benefit a drone brings, the sheer clarity of viewing the bottom a of a river makes eliminating an area from the search a lot easier, avoids having boats and further risk to SAR members, and is a critical role for us drone pilots.

If you do have time it's worth helping your local SAR volunteers, it can be a long day and sometimes heartbreaking but it does help to have eyes in the sky.

  7. Couple of early morning shots of the beautiful sky colours when we were setting up at the meeting point before the dog section, water team, land searchers and us with the drones headed out.

Karen actually stood still long enough to get a shot 😁

  8. Well our plans changed for a photography and flying day, as SRTs with West Cumbria Search and Rescue we were called out on a SAR operation for a missing elderly gentleman.

Full day of flying, went through 10 batteries between the Autel Evo 640T and our trusty Air2S, 87gb of data before light (and our vision) started to go.

Sadly not found yet but ground teams are carrying on and we are charging up incase we're called out again.

Couple of shots while there, not what we were hoping to get today, but SAR callout obviously far more important.

  9. Well that was an 'interesting' year 😆

    Highs:
    Silver wedding anniversary.
    New kittens.
Starting on the journey that is photography as a business.
    Meeting everyone on here.
Working as a Search and Rescue Technician.

    Lows:
    Losing our elderly cat Greebo.
If it could break, fail or go bang it invariably did. (or in the case of the Parrot Anafi land itself in a dam lake....).
Certain business choice was not a good idea.

But, we're healthy, still here and looking forward to the 2023 journey.

So Happy New Year to everyone, hope you all have a great evening and see you all next year 😁

  10. Paving in town centre
Charlotte is strongly against the lazy KCC option of slapping down black asphalt which almost transforms Ashford High Street back to a road system.
    Let us defend pedestrianisation!
    People before cars.
