In 2012 I lived in Iceland and was part of mini campaign against touristification. We framed the term "puffinication" (Icelandic: lundavæðing)
Visiting my friends and family I see that this fight is totally lost. In down town Reykjavik the communally run garden/square, alternative music venue, café with anarchist library etc. is gone and now there hotels instead and the rent for i inhabitants are crasy!
It's makes me look at the tourists and wish them away.
