Something I always wondered about people with #tourettes and #ticdisorders:

We're almost always empaths.

The part of our brain - the #prefrontalcortex - responsible for #empathy is slightly larger than usual while the part of our brain in our #basalganglia regulating motor planning/control, has faulty neuro-pathways and shrunken parts.

More connections to the PFC as an adaptation, resulting in glitchy motor controls but perhaps very deep emotions.

I really do have a hell of a combination to ensure my head hurts a lot.

1. I have #tourettes which comorbid comes with #migraine like headaches that are caused by suppression of #tics if I do it too much, essentially my nervous system overloading.

2. Constant neck/shoulder strain from dystonic tics that make me subconsciously tense my shoulders.

3. #visualsnowsyndrome which has actual migraines as an extremely common comorbid condition.

Where's my ibuprofen...

I just discovered I have a new condition:

#visualsnowsyndrome.

Here I thought everyone saw that way, like TV static across everything but RGB.

So far we are up to:

#tourettes #adhd #obsessivecompulsivedisorder #cptsd #asthma #insomnia facial neuralgia, peripheral neuralgia, #synesthesia, just being plain eccentric, and now visual snow syndrome.

Whatever made my soul must have hit the randomizer.
